As an Associate Software Engineer, you’ll help create the playful, polished mobile experiences that keep Candy Crush Soda Saga fresh for millions of players. Working alongside experienced engineers and a cross-functional game team, you’ll contribute to building, testing and improving game features while developing your craft in a creative, collaborative environment. Your work will support the quality, performance and enjoyment of a world-leading live game.

Your Role Within the Kingdom 

• Implement and test new game features, working closely with engineers, game designers, artists and quality assurance colleagues to turn ideas into great player experiences. 

• Help maintain, improve and optimize existing features, contributing to the stability, quality and performance of Candy Crush Soda Saga. 

• Write clear, well-structured C++ code and follow established engineering practices, code-review processes and quality standards. 

• Investigate and resolve routine technical issues, seeking guidance from teammates when working through unfamiliar or complex challenges. 

• Take an active part in game creation by sharing ideas, learning the wider game-development process and building an understanding of the full technical stack. 

• Collaborate openly with your team, share knowledge and contribute to a supportive environment where everyone can do their best work. 

Skills to Create Thrills 

Experience 

• Experience building software through professional work, internships, personal projects, university projects or equivalent practical experience. 

• Familiarity with implementing and testing features in an object-oriented programming environment. 

• Experience collaborating on code through version control, code reviews or team-based projects. 

Knowledge & Skills 

• Good foundation in C++ and object-oriented programming principles. 

• Ability to write readable, maintainable code and troubleshoot issues using established tools, systems and development practices. 

• Understanding of software testing, debugging and the importance of performance, quality and polish in player-facing products. 

• Experience with game development, Android or iOS development, or performance- and memory-sensitive applications is a plus.
