Phlebotomists are health care professionals who have been trained to collect patient’s blood specimens by    venipuncture and by microcollection techniques. 

A DOH Licensed Phlebotomist is responsible for collecting blood samples from patients safely and accurately for laboratory testing and diagnostic purposes. The role involves patient identification, venipuncture, specimen labeling, handling, and transportation in accordance with Department of Health (DOH) regulations, infection control standards, and facility policies. The phlebotomist ensures patient comfort, maintains accurate documentation, and coordinates with laboratory staff and healthcare professionals to support timely and reliable diagnostic results while maintaining patient confidentiality and safety.
