What can you expect in this role?

We are looking for a Cloud Engineer Co-op. Through this work, you will apply both technical and analytical skills while gaining hands-on experience with cloud platforms, DevOps automation, Infrastructure-as-Code, and AI-powered engineering tools. You will gain significant exposure to AWS and Google Cloud Platform, CI/CD pipelines, cloud operations, observability, and emerging AI technologies, while helping improve developer productivity, platform reliability, and engineering efficiency.

This is an ideal opportunity for third- and fourth-year students pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field. This position reports to the Technology Solutions - Infrastructure & Cloud Engineering team.

What you’ll be doing

Build and automate cloud solutions using AWS, GCP, Terraform, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure-as-Code practices to improve platform reliability, scalability, and developer productivity.
Develop AI-powered engineering tools and agents leveraging Gemini, Vertex AI, and enterprise-approved AI services to automate documentation, code analysis, testing, and operational tasks.
Improve developer experience through automation, including repository documentation generation, pull request summarization, self-service tooling, and platform workflows that reduce manual effort for engineering teams.
Assist with cloud operations and observability, analyzing logs, troubleshooting incidents, creating dashboards, and using AI-assisted insights to accelerate root cause analysis and improve service reliability.
Research, prototype, and measure AI use cases that drive measurable productivity gains across Cloud Engineering, such as automated testing, access reviews, cost optimization, and operational intelligence.

What you bring

Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technology discipline.
Foundational knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS and/or Google Cloud Platform), including compute, storage, networking, and security concepts.
Experience with at least one programming language such as Python, Java, Go, or JavaScript, with the ability to develop scripts, APIs, or automation solutions.
Understanding of Generative AI concepts and tools, including exposure to Gemini, Vertex AI, GitHub Copilot, or similar AI-assisted development technologies, with a passion for using AI to improve engineering productivity.
Familiarity with DevOps and automation practices, including Git, CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform preferred), and automated testing concepts.

The hourly compensation for the role starts at $22.50 per hour and will increase based on factors including but not limited to, skills, education, experience, and the recommended rates as set by the respective educational institution.
