We are looking for a Senior HR Specialist GHO/EHO Bonn based in Bonn.
Role Purpose:
Manage and deliver end-to-end HR operation services and employee lifecycle processes for two local DHL Express Global and Europe Head Office (GHO/EHO) legal entities in Bonn, ensuring excellent employee experience and efficient HR service delivery. Drive HR digitalization initiatives, support HR Business Partners, and provide professional HR guidance and services to employees across DHL Express GHO/EHO Office in Bonn.
The role is also responsible for leading and coordinating local HR projects, including the local HR systems landscape, e-file management, employee feedback initiatives, and People Experience programs. In addition, the position drives local employee engagement by planning and delivering key events and activities for the GHO/EHO entities, such as Town Halls, Appreciation Week, Summer and Christmas events, sponsorship initiatives, and other employee engagement programs that foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
How will you contribute to the success of DHL?
Employee Lifecycle Management- Support HR Business Partners, managers and employees throughout the entire employee lifecycle.
- Provide expert guidance on local HR policies, employment contracts, remuneration matters, and HR processes in compliance with applicable labor laws, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure consistent application of HR practices, procedures, and governance standards across the supported GHO/EHO entities in Bonn.
- Support employee relations matters, organizational changes, transfers, and disciplinary processes in line with legal and company requirements.
- Manage end-to-end recruitment administration and local onboarding, ensuring compliance with internal approval processes and Works Council requirements.
- Coordinate onboarding activities to deliver a seamless employee experience, including relocation support and immigration processes.
- Ensure outstanding employee experience by continuously improving local onboarding and integration practices.
- Prepare and manage employment contracts, contract amendments, grading letters, and employee lifecycle documentation.
- Oversee HR data management, maintaining accurate employee records and ensuring data integrity across HR systems.
- Coordinate payroll processes and collaborate with payroll providers to ensure timely and accurate payroll delivery.
- Administer employee programs, healthcare, bonus, salary review, and related compensation processes including the entire local year-end process.
- Ensure efficient management of employee absence, leave, and personnel records.
- Maintain compliance with employment legislation, company policies, data protection requirements, and corporate governance standards.
- Support audits, reporting activities, HR controlling, accrual management, and statutory compliance requirements.
- Lead and support HR digitalization initiatives and transformation projects, including the implementation and optimization of local HR systems, tools, and processes.
- Act as a subject matter expert for local HR systems and digital solutions, driving process improvements and operational excellence for the two legal entities in Bonn.
- Drive effective employee communication through digital and traditional communication channels, including management of Smart Connect and other platforms.
- Lead local Health & Wellbeing initiatives that support employee Health & Wellbeing, engagement, and a positive workplace culture.
- Design and implement local employee engagement programs and recognition initiatives that enhance employee experience and productivity.
- Lead the planning, coordination, communication and execution of key employee events, including GHO Town Halls, Appreciation Week, Summer and Christmas events, sponsorship activities, and other engagement initiatives.
Do you have what it takes?
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; Master's degree or equivalent qualification is an advantage.
- 5-7 years of progressive experience in HR Operations, HR Administration, or a Generalist HR role, ideally within a multinational and matrix organization.
- Fluent in both German and English, written and spoken; additional language skills are considered an asset.
- Strong knowledge of the employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, contract management, employee relations, compensation and benefits, payroll administration, and offboarding processes.
- Solid understanding of German employment legislation and HR practices, including eligibility to work requirements, employee relations, wage tax, social security, Works Council regulations (BetrVG), and recruitment processes.
- Proven experience in HR systems, digitalization initiatives, and continuous process improvement, with an interest in emerging HR technologies and digital solutions.
- Proactive, self-motivated, and results-oriented, with a strong focus on execution, accountability, and continuous improvement.

- Strong interpersonal skills and a customer-focused mindset, with the ability to build trusted relationships in an international environment across all levels of the organization.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to engage and influence managers, employees, and senior leadership.
