Senior Manager – AI & Data
Solution Shaping & Delivery Leadership
Senior Manager • London (hybrid, UK client travel)
About the team
EY’s UK AI & Data practice helps organisations across Government, Life Sciences, Consumer Products, Retail, Utilities and Telecommunications turn AI and data into measurable business outcomes. We solve problems at the heart of the enterprise – AI in customer excellence, finance, procurement and supply chain – and deliver them at scale on Microsoft, Databricks and Snowflake.
Role purpose
As a Senior Manager in AI & Data, you will turn a client problem into a solution, and a solution into delivered value. Your primary focus is delivery: leading large, complex AI and data programmes end to end, to time, budget and quality. Alongside that, you will shape solutions and proposals, and use the trust you build through delivery to originate and convert follow-on work.

Key responsibilities
Delivery leadership (primary focus)
- End-to-end ownership. Lead large-scale AI and data programmes (typically multi-workstream, multi-disciplinary teams) from mobilisation through to production and value realisation.
- Delivery rigour. Own plans, RAID, quality assurance, governance and client steering; anticipate and resolve risks before they become issues.
- Commercial management. Manage engagement economics – budget, margin, change control and forecasting – in line with EY standards.
- Technical assurance. Be technically credible enough to challenge designs, make trade-offs and hold the line on quality, security and responsible AI.
- Value realisation. Define and track business KPIs so clients see tangible outcomes, not just delivered technology.
- Team leadership. Build, lead and coach teams of architects, engineers, data scientists and consultants, including onshore and offshore resources.
Solution shaping
- Work with clients to understand business problems across customer, finance, procurement, supply chain and other functions, and decompose them into the AI, data, process and people capabilities required.
- Design solutions and delivery approaches on Microsoft, Databricks or Snowflake, with credible estimates, plans and resourcing models.
- Lead proposal development, orals and demos; articulate value through both a business lens (revenue, cost, working capital, risk, experience) and a technical lens (scalability, reuse, cost-to-serve).
Converting follow-on work
- Use proximity to the client during delivery to spot new problems, extensions and adjacent opportunities.
- Shape and convert follow-on work with the account partner and Director, building a pipeline from within the engagement.
- Build trusted relationships with functional heads and senior client stakeholders through consistent delivery excellence.
Collaboration and practice
- Work closely with account partners, consulting practice leaders and alliance partners (Microsoft, Databricks, Snowflake).
- Contribute to reusable assets, accelerators and delivery methods; mentor Managers and Seniors.

- A strong track record of leading large-scale AI and data programmes into production as the accountable delivery lead.
- Hands-on, deep experience on at least one of Microsoft, Databricks or Snowflake.

- A client-centric approach – starting from the business problem and translating it into an AI and data solution.
- Functional or industry understanding in at least one of our focus areas.
- Confident communication with both technical and business audiences.
- Evidence of growing engagements through delivery – extensions, follow-ons or new scope.
- Experience in consulting, professional services or equivalent client-facing transformation.
