Be a part of a world-class academic healthcare system, UChicago Medicine, as a Patient Access Supervisor for the Revenue Cycle Department.

The Patient Access Supervisor provides operational leadership and oversight for insurance verification, authorization, and HMO-related workflows that support timely patient access, accurate financial clearance, and optimal reimbursement. This role serves as a key connection point between Patient Access, clinical teams, insurance companies, and Revenue Cycle partners, ensuring that complex issues are identified, communicated, and resolved efficiently.

The Supervisor works both independently and collaboratively to oversee daily operations, monitor workflow performance, address payer and authorization barriers, and ensure staff have the guidance and resources needed to perform their responsibilities effectively. This role requires strong knowledge of insurance requirements, authorization processes, HMO workflows, and revenue cycle workflows across front, middle and back, along with the ability to interpret payer guidelines and translate them into consistent operational practices.

A critical component of the position is building and maintaining effective relationships with clinicians, staff, payers, and Revenue Cycle stakeholders. Through hands-on leadership, problem-solving, staff coaching, and cross-functional collaboration, the Supervisor helps ensure that Patient Access processes are accurate, efficient, compliant, and aligned with organizational revenue cycle goals
