The opportunity
The Strategy & Execution team in EY-Parthenon recognizes that CEOs and business leaders are tasked with achieving maximum value for their organizations’ stakeholders in a transformative business environment. We challenge assumptions to design and deliver strategies that improve profitability, strengthen competitiveness and create long-term value.
We are looking for an experienced strategy consulting professional to join EY-Parthenon GDS India as an Associate Director within the Consumer Products and Retail sector.
You will be based in EY GDS India and work as an integrated member of the Singapore Strategy & Execution team, primarily supporting client engagements across Singapore and the wider ASEAN region.
This is a client-facing consulting and leadership role. You will work closely with EY-Parthenon teams and clients across ASEAN to develop and deliver strategic opportunities, drawing on market, competitor and customer insights and incorporating commercial, operational, financial and implementation perspectives.
The role provides the opportunity to work on complex, cross-border engagements, develop relationships with senior stakeholders and contribute to building EY-Parthenon’s Consumer Products and Retail capabilities across Singapore, ASEAN and GDS India.
Your key responsibilities
Client engagement and delivery
- Lead client engagements, major workstreams or independent modules across strategy, commercial transformation and operational transformation assignments.
- Structure complex business problems, develop hypotheses and define robust approaches to address clients’ strategic and operational priorities.
- Lead the collection and analysis of quantitative and qualitative information, translate findings into insights and formulate practical recommendations.
- Take ownership of the quality, timeliness and commercial relevance of project deliverables.
- Work directly with client stakeholders to understand their priorities, align on project objectives and communicate emerging findings and recommendations.
- Lead or contribute to client discussions, working sessions, presentations and senior stakeholder meetings.
- Develop clear, compelling and evidence-based presentations and reports for senior client audiences.
- Work effectively with geographically dispersed engagement teams, coordinating closely with colleagues in Singapore, GDS India and other ASEAN markets.

Team leadership and capability development
- Lead, coach and develop teams working across GDS India, Singapore and the wider EY-Parthenon network.
- Provide clear direction, constructive feedback and day-to-day support to team members.
- Contribute to building a strong Consumer Products and Retail capability within EY-Parthenon GDS India.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, learning and broader capability-development initiatives.
- Help strengthen collaboration and knowledge sharing between the Singapore and GDS India teams.
- Promote an inclusive, high-performing team environment focused on development, quality and client impact.
Business and practice development
- Support the development of ASEAN-focused proposals, credentials and other business-development materials.
- Contribute sector insights and subject-matter expertise to pursuit teams and client discussions.
- Help identify opportunities to deepen existing client relationships and support the development of new relationships.
- Contribute to the continued growth of the Strategy & Execution practice and its Consumer Products and Retail portfolio across ASEAN.

To qualify for the role, you must have
- A bachelor’s degree from a recognized institution. A master’s degree or MBA is preferred.
- At least six years of relevant professional experience, including significant experience in a strategy consulting firm or a closely related consulting environment.
- Demonstrated experience in the Consumer Products and Retail sector.
- Experience leading substantial workstreams, project modules or client engagements.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical and financial analysis skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience developing and presenting materials for senior stakeholders.
- Experience managing and developing consulting teams.
- The ability to work effectively with colleagues and clients across locations, functions and cultures.
- A willingness and ability to travel internationally in line with client and engagement requirements.
Relevant Consumer Products and Retail experience
Relevant experience should include one or more of the following areas:
- Corporate, portfolio, market entry or growth strategy
- Go-to-market strategy and commercial transformation
- Revenue growth management
- Digital and AI-led business transformation
- Cost reduction and operating-model transformation
- Supply chain and procurement transformation
- Sales and operations planning
- Retail commercial or operational transformation
- Commercial due diligence, post-merger integration or value creation
Ideally, you will also have
- Previous experience working with clients or consulting teams in Singapore, ASEAN or other international markets.
- Experience operating as part of a cross-border or globally integrated consulting team.
- Familiarity with the business environment, consumer trends and market dynamics of Singapore and the wider ASEAN region.
- Experience supporting consulting proposals, business development and client pursuits.
- Experience building sector capabilities, coaching teams or contributing to recruitment and learning initiatives.
- Strong executive presence and the ability to establish credibility with senior client stakeholders.
Regional exposure and ways of working
- The role requires close collaboration with colleagues and clients across ASEAN, with reasonable flexibility to accommodate regional engagement requirements.
- Periodic travel to Singapore and other ASEAN markets will be required, depending on client and engagement needs. This may include short-duration on-site assignments at different stages of an engagement.
- The successful candidate should be comfortable working in an integrated regional team, building relationships remotely and in person, and adapting to the requirements of cross-border client engagements.
