Essential responsibilities and duties
The Commodity Leader is responsible for driving the implementation of the commodity strategy, ensuring alignment with global purchasing policies, and delivering performance objectives across quality, cost, and supply. The role requires close collaboration with internal stakeholders and suppliers to achieve strategic goals and maintain compliance with established standards.
The main missions of the role are:
o Delivery of commodity strategic plan
o Commodity-specific metrics
o Performance versus business SLAs
o Business stakeholder satisfaction
o Supply performance
o Compliance and risk management
o Organizational impact and personal development
o Support the Commodity Director / Manager in development of strategy for his/her commodities
o Implement the commodity strategic purchasing process, under management of the GCD (e.g., launch RFx, manage catalog, …)
o Provide insights into specific suppliers, markets and business factors
o Ensure compliance with global policy
Your profile and competencies to succeed
Minimum Education Level: Prefer Diploma/ degree in business, purchasing or engineering.
Experience :
o Prior experience with purchasing / strategic sourcing or sales is highly desirable
Skills and competencies :
o Strong negotiation skills
o Purchasing financials skills, including data analytics, budgeting and savings calculation
o Business sense / strategic thinking ability
o Drive, creativity and willingness to learn
o Strong interpersonal skills including written and oral communication skills
o Proficient in English
Nice to have
o Experience in global commodity management and advanced analytics tools
