Product Manager - Air-Cooled Chillers

Build the next generation of sustainable cooling solutions for data centres. This role owns the product direction and commercial performance of applied air-cooled chillers in EMEA, working with customers, Sales, Engineering and Manufacturing to bring new products to market and strengthen a growing European chiller organisation.
What you will do
As Air-Cooled Chiller Product Manager, you will be the product and commercial lead for applied air-cooled chillers used in mission-critical and data-centre applications. You will manage the product lifecycle, shape the roadmap, translate customer needs into product requirements, and support the successful development and launch of new products across global markets.
- Own the end-to-end lifecycle and business performance of assigned air-cooled chiller product lines, including revenue, margin, cost, quality and market competitiveness.
- Build strong relationships with regional business leaders, Sales, channel partners and customers to gather voice of customer and understand current and future product requirements.
- Develop and maintain product roadmaps and business plans, using customer insight, market trends and competitive benchmarking to prioritise investments and initiatives.
- Lead the product-management contribution to new product introductions, working closely with the Dublin Engineering Centre of Excellence and global cross-functional teams.
- Translate market and customer requirements into clear product priorities across multiple technical disciplines, including mechanical and electrical systems, heat transfer, fluid dynamics and power.
- Analyse product performance, cost, pricing, features and competitive position, and present recommendations that influence strategic business decisions.
- Support pricing strategies and product value propositions that align with customer needs and business objectives.
- Build a strong understanding of applicable market requirements, regulations and customer expectations across data-centre and other mission-critical applications.
- Provide visible product leadership as the EMEA chiller engineering and manufacturing organisation develops its capability, processes and market presence.
Your first six months
- Become familiar with the existing product-development programmes, product portfolio and customer requirements.
- Build effective working relationships with the Dublin engineering team, global product teams, Sales, Manufacturing and other key stakeholders.
- Begin engaging directly in customer discussions about current applications and future product needs.
- Identify opportunities to strengthen product-management processes and help mature the new European chiller organisation.
- Demonstrate a hands-on, build-from-scratch mindset by moving beyond observation and documentation to actively shaping priorities and ways of working.
What you will need
Required experience and capabilities
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, marketing or a related discipline. An engineering degree is strongly preferred due to the technical nature of the products, customers and sales channels.
- At least five years of relevant professional experience, including approximately three years in product, service or offering management, or closely related product ownership.
- Experience working with complex, engineered products in HVAC, chillers, heavy machinery, industrial equipment or another high-technology manufacturing environment.
- A strong working understanding of chillers, HVAC systems or comparable technical products, including how product cost, performance and value are optimised.
- Experience collaborating with and providing direction to engineering teams across multiple technical disciplines.
- Ability to work effectively with Sales and business leaders and to communicate product performance, cost, pricing, market trends and competitive insights clearly.
- Experience analysing large volumes of data and producing clear, decision-ready reports and recommendations.
- Strong stakeholder-management and communication skills, with the credibility to engage technical customers and internal specialists.
- A proactive approach and genuine interest in building a new product and engineering capability in EMEA.
Preferred experience
- Product-management, product-development, applications engineering, technical sales or product-marketing experience in commercial or applied HVAC, particularly air-cooled chillers.
- Experience with products used in data centres, mission-critical facilities or other technically demanding commercial and industrial environments.
- Knowledge of current HVAC market trends, competitor products and customer buying requirements.
- Experience gathering voice of customer and managing complex customer or product issues.
- Understanding of capital expenditure, financial budgeting and investment measures such as ROI, IRR and NPV.
- A degree in mechanical or electrical engineering; chemical engineering may also be relevant. An MBA or other postgraduate business qualification is an advantage.

Working arrangements
Location
Dublin, Ireland, based near the engineering operation.
Hybrid working
A minimum of approximately three days per week in the office is expected to support close collaboration with Engineering and other stakeholders.
Travel
Moderate domestic and international travel for customer visits, industry conferences and workshops. Travel may occur once or twice a year, with occasional trips of up to one or two weeks.
Reporting
This is an individual-contributor product-management role reporting to the Air-Cooled Chiller product leadership organisation.
