The Area Sales Representative oversees a geographical sales territory ensuring that independent and regional account business is developed, and budgeted sales and profit objectives are achieved.

SUMMARY

We are looking for someone who shares in our core values of a strong work ethic, and a customer-first attitude. This position requires a focus on outside business-to-business sales through lead generation and account development. This role requires a motivated team player with exceptional communication and listening skills, a strong work ethic, and the ability to be self-motivated and take direction. Position is primarily remote with about 10% travel.

RESPONSIBILTIES

Generate outside leads and prospect new business opportunities through tele-qualifying, field-qualifying, referrals and staying informed on the area’s market opportunities and changes
Effectively grow and manage the client pipeline from lead generation to client account management
Provide a high level of customer service while explaining the company’s services and benefits to potential and existing clients Strength and maintain client relationships through frequent visits, phone calls, emails, promotional materials, lunch meetings and entertainment such as sporting events, and outings
Utilizes various tools and resources to maximize territory’s business potential, such as but not limited to researching market changes, effectively qualifying businesses’ needs, and executing high-yielding call plans and strategies
Research and develop an understanding of clients’ business, and their business needs to best represent and sell the company’s services

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Minimum 8 years of experience in the domestic air freight expedite logistics industry or similar
Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and emotional intelligence for the purposes of building relationships
Good networking skills and the ability to handle numerous companies and clients
Ability to tenaciously work under pressure and execute sales initiatives
Effectively articulate service benefits in a way that engages clients’ attention and time
Resilience and a willingness to deal with rejection while remaining self-motivated and determined
Excellent organization and time management capabilities, including being a team player
Ability to execute job functions through creative and out-of-the-box thinking

Physical Requirements

Work is mainly performed in a temperature-controlled office environment or travel via vehicle.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to walk 30% of the time, stand 30% of the time and sit 40% of the time.
Position requires some degree of travel, occasionally by airplane.
The employee will occasionally lift and or carry up to 20 lbs.
Employee may use computer, phone, copier, and other office equipment in the course of a day.
