The Role
President, HSBC Investment & Insurance Brokerage is a senior role reporting to the Head of International Wealth and Premier Banking (IWPB) Philippines and is central to delivering the IWPB Philippines strategy as we grow our onshore Wealth Management business. You’ll own end-to-end accountability for the performance and day-to-day running of HSBC Investment & Insurance Brokerage, the entity that fulfils customers’ investment and insurance needs in the Philippines.
The role spans P&L delivery, sales management, product expansion and a strong control and governance agenda in a regulated environment. You’ll work closely with stakeholders across Wealth & International, Distribution, Digital and Marketing to build a scalable distribution model and strengthen the customer offering. Success means delivering product sales volumes and revenues against plan while managing cost base and sustaining consistently high sales quality.
You’ll also represent the brokerage with the Board and regulators through clear reporting, oversight of key risks and effective governance.
What you'll be doing
- Own P&L delivery for Investments and Insurance including product sales volumes revenues and cost management
- Set and execute the growth strategy and financial resource plan for Investments and Insurance within IWPB Philippines
- Oversee day-to-day operations with end-to-end business oversight across all HSBC Investment & Insurance Brokerage lines
- Shape the expansion of the brokerage entity including operating model recruitment product launches and stakeholder engagement
- Govern operational and regulatory risks including timely accurate financial and non-financial reporting to regulators
- Manage Board engagement including reporting on performance vs plan strategic objectives key initiatives people agenda and key risks
- Strengthen sales effectiveness and customer experience by removing blockers and delivering projects aligned to the Wealth & International Value Stream
- Embed process capability and technology enhancements through training coaching and ongoing performance management
What we're looking for
- Bring proven progressive senior management experience within investments insurance or wealth distribution in a customer-facing environment
- Demonstrate experience managing P&L performance against volume and revenue targets while managing a cost base
- Show capability in setting direction for sales teams and improving sales productivity while protecting sales quality and compliant sales processes
- Bring experience building or scaling an operating structure including recruitment product launches and cross-functional coordination
- Demonstrate strong governance and control capability including ownership of operational and regulatory risk and effective internal control structures
- Show experience engaging Boards and regulators including structured reporting and management of regulatory risk
- Bring established change management experience including improving processes capabilities capacity and infrastructure and delivering cost efficiencies
- Demonstrate strong stakeholder management across business lines and the ability to influence at senior levels locally regionally and globally
