Principal Product Owner, Autodesk Flow Studio

Location: Serbia

Manager: Bojan Stanković

Level: P4

Position Overview

Generative AI is rapidly reshaping how entertainment is created, and Autodesk Flow Studio is at the center of that transformation. We’re looking for a Principal Product Owner to translate product strategy into focused, high-quality execution with our engineering team in Europe.

You will be the primary day-to-day product partner for the engineering team, working closely with Product Management, Engineering Leads, UX, and technical partners to turn product direction into clear priorities, actionable requirements, and incremental customer value. You will own and continuously refine the backlog, resolve ambiguity, manage dependencies, and make timely trade-offs so the team can move with clarity and confidence.

We’re looking for a highly organized, proactive product leader with strong product judgment, technical curiosity, and a bias for execution. You are comfortable making and owning decisions, including saying no when work does not support the product direction or customer outcome.

Key Responsibilities

·       Strategy Execution & Alignment: Partner with Product Management and leadership to translate Flow Studio strategy, priorities, and emerging Generative AI opportunities into clear, executable plans for engineering. Communicate product decisions and rationale so the team understands both what to build and why.

·       Backlog, Epic & Feature Ownership: Own and continuously refine the product backlog, epics, features, and user stories. Ensure priorities, scope, requirements, dependencies, acceptance criteria, and intended customer outcomes are sufficiently defined before development begins.

·       Engineering Partnership & Delivery: Serve as the primary day-to-day product partner to Engineering Leads and technical teams, providing context, clarification, prioritization, and timely decisions from definition through delivery.

·       Prioritization & Trade-Offs: Balance customer value, business priorities, technical constraints, quality, defects, and technical debt. Make pragmatic prioritization decisions, including reducing scope when needed to protect outcomes and maintain momentum.

·       Acceptance, Quality & Validation: Define acceptance criteria and success measures; review completed functionality against intended outcomes and the team’s definition of done; and ensure delivered experiences meet the appropriate quality bar.

·       UX & Customer Experience: Partner with UX and Design to translate customer needs and product intent into implementation-ready workflows and experiences. Own the content and structure of in-product onboarding and walkthroughs where needed to support adoption.

·       Customer Feedback & Prioritization: Own the ongoing analysis and synthesis of customer feedback, usage insights, and competitive signals, translating them into clear product recommendations and backlog priorities.

·       Dependencies & Blocker Removal: Identify product and technical dependencies across Flow Studio capabilities, services, and partner teams. Clarify sequencing and ownership, surface risks early, and remove or escalate blockers that could slow delivery.

·       Operating Cadence & Communication: Maintain effective rhythms for backlog refinement, planning, reviews, decision-making, and status communication. Keep progress, risks, trade-offs, dependencies, and next steps visible to relevant stakeholders.

·       Continuous Improvement: Raise the standard of product execution by improving backlog quality, requirements clarity, planning readiness, decision-making, and collaboration between Product and Engineering.

Required Qualifications

·       Experience: 6+ years of experience in Product Ownership, Product Management, Technical Product Management, or a related software product role, ideally in a fast-moving technology environment.

·       Product Execution: Demonstrated ability to translate product strategy and customer needs into prioritized backlogs, actionable requirements, and incremental deliverables.

·       Engineering Partnership: Proven experience working closely with software engineering teams and Engineering Leads throughout the development lifecycle.

·       Backlog & Agile Delivery: Strong experience managing epics, user stories, acceptance criteria, priorities, dependencies, definitions of done, defects, and technical debt.

·       Prioritization & Decision-Making: Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities, make pragmatic trade-offs, resolve ambiguity, and drive initiatives to completion.

·       Technical & GenAI Fluency: Strong technical curiosity and working knowledge of generative AI, machine learning, and emerging AI-powered creative workflows. Able to learn evolving model capabilities, limitations, and customer use cases and partner effectively with technical teams.

·       Communication, Organization & Collaboration: Excellent written and verbal communication skills; highly organized, proactive, and effective at creating clarity, maintaining momentum, following through on commitments, and communicating decisions and trade-offs to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

·       Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.

Desirable Experience

·       AI Product Delivery: Experience supporting the delivery and launch of Generative AI, AI/ML, or other technically complex products in production environments.

·       Media & Entertainment: Experience in VFX, animation, filmmaking, gaming, creative technology, or related production workflows.

·       Creative AI Tools: Hands-on familiarity with modern Generative AI image, video, performance, animation, or creative production tools and the broader competitive landscape.

·       Autodesk & Production Workflows: Experience with Flow Studio, Autodesk Production Management, or adjacent Autodesk Media & Entertainment products.

·       Technical Platforms: Familiarity with web development, industry-scale cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure, and/or 3D graphics, rendering pipelines, or real-time engines such as Maya, Blender, or Unreal Engine.

The Ideal Candidate

You are an execution-focused product leader who turns ambitious product ideas into working software. You build a deep understanding of the intended customer outcome, identify what is missing, ask the right questions, and make timely decisions that allow the team to move forward.

You work naturally with engineers and Engineering Leads and understand that strong product execution is not about creating more process or documentation; it is about providing the right level of clarity at the right time. You anticipate questions before they become blockers, surface dependencies early, and know when more definition is needed and when the team has enough information to execute.

You stay close to customers and the competitive landscape and use those signals to sharpen priorities and product decisions. You are comfortable saying no, cutting scope, and protecting the product outcome when priorities compete.

Join us to help turn Flow Studio’s product strategy into focused execution and meaningful customer outcomes. Work with passionate professionals at the forefront of Generative AI to bring the next generation of creative production workflows to artists and studios around the world.
