What Is the Opportunity?

We are looking for an experienced Casualty underwriting expert to join our Underwriting Office team as a Technical Underwriting Specialist. You’ll work alongside Underwriting Officers helping to shape and monitor the long and short term strategies that drive profit and growth across our Business Insurance portfolio. You’ll analyse portfolios using data from Business Intelligence, Actuarial, Catastrophe Modelling, Claims and other sources, spotting trends in performance, pricing and rate adequacy, and turning those insights into clear recommendations.

A core part of the role is owning our underwriting guides, keeping them up to date and communicating any changes in how we underwrite, while also training underwriters, handling referrals and supporting project work for the team. We’re looking for someone with solid technical casualty knowledge and an interest in AI, who enjoys combining underwriting expertise with data-driven insight.

Travelers Europe currently offers flexibility to employees who wish to work on a hybrid basis in accordance with our Hybrid Work Arrangements Policy. This entails full time employees working three days a week in the office and two days at home (or pro rata for part-time employees). This policy may be changed at the Company’s discretion.
