History of the Company: Superior Ambulance Service started in 1959 with one ambulance and today is the largest independent, locally owned, and operated emergency medical services provider in the Midwest. Superior employs more than 4,000 licensed EMTs, Paramedics, and Nurses, operating a fleet of more than 800 ambulances throughout Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, and Wisconsin. Superior also provides Critical Care, helicopter, and fixed wing emergency medical transportation.

Superior Ambulance Service is looking for a Social Media Specialist with strong knowledge and understanding of the digital media landscape, including various social media websites to join our team. The Social Media Specialist is responsible for creating and scheduling  graphics and videos on Superior’s social media accounts. The Social Media Specialist is responsible for monitoring digital traffic, project status,  to result in maximizing ROI.

The goal is to create a positive image for the Company, improve our virtual reputation, and increase awareness of the Company and the EMS industry in general. This position will directly support the objectives of the marketing, operations, and human resources department.

The primary duties and responsibilities of the Social Media Specialist consist of, but are not limited to the following: 

• Thorough knowledge of social media platforms, trends, and best practices
• You will play a critical role in creating fun, interesting, and educational content for our social media channels, and you’ll support our content team by creating graphics as needed for blog posts, emails, webinars, and more
• Tell our brand story on digital channels, creating new and leveraging existing content to expand our reach and impact
• Candidate will have proficient knowledge and training in non-linear video editing
• Work with the marketing team to support long-form content Support various marketing campaigns with a social media strategy based on our goals and objectives
• Ability to iterate upon existing content by turning it into different types of content (infographics, short videos, etc.)
• 10-15% of travel is required

The ideal candidate will be responsible for growing revenue through digital media through designing and executing marketing campaigns. After campaigns have been launched, you will extract and analyze data across multiple channels. We are also looking for the following qualifications: 

• One or more years of professional video and photography experience
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent filming, photography, and editing skills
• Degree in graphic design or marketing preferred
• Displays a friendly, energetic and personable attitude
• Ability to set goals, track your progress, and report your impact
• Must have a passion for photography and videography
• You work hard and like to collaborate with others
• Strong organization and time-management skills
• You're ambitious, driven, and passionate about outside-of-the-box thinking
• Work closely with marketing team members to try new ideas, keep on top of industry talking points and important conversations, and generally be a subject matter expert in all things social media
• Ability to multitask on multiple projects at once
• Reliably commute or plan to travel to multiple stations throughout our organization. May travel to Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin. (Required)
• Supervise social media platforms
• Update company websites
• Design and implement advertising and marketing campaigns
• Expertise in both traditional and non-traditional advertising
• Familiar with scheduling platforms such as Sprout Social, Buffer, Hootsuite, Meltwater
• Has thorough knowledge of Canva. Adobe Photoshop or similar editing software
• One to two years proven work experience in digital marketing or related field.
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred in Marketing, Communication, Public Relations or other related field.
• Advanced knowledge of social media platforms, and online marketing.
• Excellent written and verbal skills and ability to interact effectively with all levels of management, employees, and clients (when necessary).
• Well organized with strong attention to detail/accuracy.
• Exceptionally self-motivated and directed.
• Digital Literacy and previous data driven decision making
• Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment with associates. Capability of effective planning and priority setting. Ability to manage several projects simultaneously while working under pressure to meet deadlines.
