Hours: 28.75 hours per week (Monday - Friday 8.30am – 3.15pm), 38 weeks per year
Contract: Fixed Term until end of academic year in the first instance

We are seeking a dedicated, compassionate, and engaging Teaching Assistant to join our inclusive and supportive primary school team. This role will involve providing 1 to 1 support for a pupil, as well as contributing to the wider classroom environment. We are looking for someone who is a genuine team player, committed to helping every child thrive.

Key responsibilities

Support the class teacher in delivering engaging, effective lessons aligned with the primary curriculum
Work with individuals and small groups to reinforce learning, build confidence, and promote progress
Provide tailored support for pupils with SEND, adapting activities to ensure full participation
Assist in implementing teacher-led interventions and strategies to help pupils meet their learning goals
Promote positive behaviour, independence, resilience, and self-esteem
Help prepare classroom resources and learning materials
Monitor pupil engagement and progress, sharing observations with the class teacher
Support pupils during break times, educational visits, and extracurricular activities
Contribute to maintaining a safe, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment.

Experience

Experience working with children, particularly those with SEND or requiring 1 to 1 support, is desirable but not essential. Training and support will be provided.
