VSL Scriptwriter for a DTC Brand (US-Based/Remote)

We are looking for a creative, detail-oriented VSL Scriptwriter to develop persuasive, high-converting Video Sales Letter (VSL) scripts for DTC/e-commerce brands. This role is primarily focused on writing long-form direct-response video scripts, researching winning ads, developing compelling hooks and angles, and using performance insights to improve creative results.
The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in copywriting, understands direct-response marketing, and is eager to grow their skills in creative strategy and video production.
Responsibilities
- Write long-form VSL scripts (3–5+ minutes), including hooks, storytelling, product benefits, objection handling, and calls to action.
- Research winning Meta ads, competitors, customer pain points, and proven direct-response strategies.
- Develop new creative angles and iterate on scripts based on performance data.
- Collaborate with video editors to guide pacing, visuals, B-roll, and storytelling.
- Work with media buyers and the creative team to improve ad performance.
Requirements
- Experience in copywriting, VSL writing, or direct-response advertising.
- Strong writing skills and an understanding of persuasive storytelling and consumer psychology.
- Familiarity with DTC/e-commerce advertising and Meta ads.
- Understanding of long-form video content and audience retention.
- Proactive, creative, coachable, and comfortable working independently.
