Responsibilities

Key mandate is to further develop and enhance SocGen’s client franchise across SEA and India with a focus on Sovereign Wealth Funds, Central Banks, Financial Institutions, Key & Select Hedge Funds and Real Money accounts.

Also responsible for building long-term, sustainable relationships with the firm's most strategic clients, leveraging a deep understanding of their investment strategies and requirements across public and private markets. The mandate includes delivering the full suite of Societe Generale GBIS and Group capabilities, with particular emphasis on Global Markets solutions, while driving cross-selling opportunities across business lines including Global Banking & Advisory, Securities Services, Transaction Banking, and Digital & Client Solutions to maximize client value and business growth.

Key Responsibilities

Client Coverage & Relationship Management
Manage a portfolio of institutional clients including Asset Managers, Key & Select Hedge Funds, Pension Funds, Sovereign Wealth Funds and Financial Institutions.
Maintain regular engagement with key client stakeholders including Portfolio Managers, Traders, Treasury teams, Operations leaders, and selected senior decision makers.
Develop a deep understanding of client business models, investment strategies, and organizational structures.
Identify evolving client needs and coordinate internal resources to deliver appropriate solutions.
Business Development
Support and execute client coverage strategies to increase wallet share and franchise penetration.
Identify opportunities across Global Markets, Financing, Securities Services, Transaction Banking, and Advisory businesses.
Drive business development initiatives and contribute to revenue growth across the assigned client portfolio.
Participate in the preparation and delivery of client pitches, strategic reviews, and business plans.
Coverage Coordination
Coordinate day-to-day relationship management activities across product and geography teams.
Support account reviews and ensure timely follow-up on client opportunities.
Work closely with global coverage teams for clients with international operations and investment mandates.
Facilitate cross-selling opportunities across business lines and regional platforms.
Market Intelligence
Monitor industry trends, market developments, competitive dynamics, and client activity.
Share insights with coverage and product teams to support strategic decision-making.
Contribute to sector coverage initiatives across institutional investor and financial institution segments.
Risk Management & Governance
Apply sound judgement when assessing client opportunities and risk-return considerations.
Ensure adherence to internal risk frameworks, compliance standards, and regulatory requirements.
Support credit monitoring and client risk review processes where applicable.
Escalate material risks and issues appropriately.
Franchise & ESG Initiatives
Support client engagement initiatives focused on sustainable finance and ESG-related opportunities.
Participate in industry events, client forums, and strategic marketing initiatives.
Contribute to the development of the institutional investor franchise across Southeast Asia.

Profile required

8-12 years of experience in institutional banking, corporate banking, markets, securities services, or investment banking.
Experience covering institutional investors and/or financial institutions.
Demonstrated ability to manage client relationships and identify commercial opportunities.
Understanding of capital markets products and banking solutions.

Department Description

The Vice President, FIG & Institutional Coverage is responsible for managing and developing relationships with institutional investor and financial institution clients across Southeast Asia. The VP partners closely with product specialists and senior coverage bankers to deliver holistic solutions that support clients' investment, financing, and transaction banking needs.
As an individual contributor, the VP is responsible for originating business opportunities, coordinating client engagement activities, and executing client strategies across a portfolio of priority accounts while contributing to broader franchise growth objectives.
