This is a visible specialist role with the opportunity to shape policy, influence change and build employment tax capability.
More about the role
As Employment Tax Manager, you will lead employment tax compliance, governance and advisory activity. You will provide practical guidance across payroll, benefits, expenses, off-payroll working, share plans, internationally mobile employees, PAYE Settlement Agreements and, where relevant, the Construction Industry Scheme. You will also advise on reward, workforce, organisational change and business transformation initiatives.
Your day-to-day work will include designing and monitoring employment tax policies, processes and controls, maintaining the risk and control framework, and coordinating investigation and remediation where issues arise. You will use evidence-based judgement when balancing legal requirements, colleague experience, commercial goals and reputational risk. You will be credible when engaging HMRC, external advisers and senior stakeholders, comfortable operating through ambiguity and organisational change, and committed to improving awareness and capability. A relevant professional qualification such as CTA, ACA or ACCA, or equivalent demonstrable experience, is required.
