Your day-to-day
- Welcome guests warmly and provide personalized service that reflects the luxury standards of InterContinental.
- Perform guest check-in, check-out, and room changes according to established procedures.
- Ensure all guest information is accurately entered into the hotel system and complies with reservation details and applicable regulations.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of room types, configurations, availability, rates, and market segments to maximize room revenue.
- Promote hotel facilities, restaurants, services, and special offers to enhance guest experiences and maximize revenue opportunities.
- Contribute to Front Office upselling targets by following established procedures and guidelines.
- Maintain accurate cashier balances, handle guest payments, and ensure all financial transactions are recorded correctly.
- Verify cashier floats, maintain the house bank, and complete all required cashiering reports and documentation.
- Handle guest folios, late check-outs, last-minute charges, and applicable discounts according to hotel procedures.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding guest profiles, room numbers, billing information, and personal details.
- Answer telephone calls promptly using the appropriate hotel greeting and respond efficiently to guest inquiries.
- Handle guest complaints professionally, resolve issues promptly within the scope of authority, and escalate matters to the supervisor when necessary.
- Respond to guest requests efficiently and ensure prompt attention throughout the guest journey.
- Review guest preferences and coordinate with Guest Relations to provide personalized experiences for special occasions, VIPs, and returning guests.
- Coordinate closely with Housekeeping to maintain accurate room status, follow up on room readiness, and resolve room discrepancies.
- Communicate effectively with the Concierge, Bell Desk, Reservations, and other departments to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Handle guest messages, parcels, and other communications in coordination with the relevant departments.
- Maintain accurate records and reports, including arrivals, room moves, traces, checked-out rooms, and next-day billing.
- Ensure all front desk forms, stationery, collaterals, and equipment are available and in good working condition.
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of hotel facilities, services, dining options, entertainment, promotions, and operating hours.
- Promote the IHG One Rewards programme and InterContinental Ambassador programme, encouraging eligible guests to enroll and ensuring appropriate recognition of members.
- Support the achievement of hotel performance targets, including guest satisfaction, loyalty enrolments, loyalty recognition, and quality audit results.
- Attend daily briefings, departmental meetings, and training sessions as required.
- Follow all hotel policies, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), brand standards, and applicable security procedures.
- Maintain excellent grooming, personal hygiene, and a professional appearance in line with InterContinental brand standards.
- Keep the Front Desk work area clean, organized, and presentable at all times.
- Report suspicious activities, irregularities, equipment deficiencies, and lost property to the appropriate departments.
- Follow emergency procedures and perform assigned duties during evacuations and other emergency situations.
- Maintain positive working relationships and effective communication with colleagues across all departments.
- Participate in departmental initiatives and contribute to continuous improvement in guest service delivery.
What do we need from you?
- Bachelor degree. Previous experience is a plus.
- Must speak fluent English and local language with additional other languages preferred.

- Communication skills are utilised a significant amount of time when interacting with others; demonstrated ability to interact with guests, employees and third parties that reflects highly on the hotel, the brand and the Company.
- Reading and writing abilities are utilized often when completing paperwork and reports, giving and receiving instructions.
- Required to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays.
- Some knowledge of locale preferred. - Strong verbal and written communications skills required.
- Must be computer literate and have the ability to multi task and work under pressure.
