The Laboratory Support Design Engineer supports laboratory operations by designing, fabricating, modifying, and implementing custom test fixtures, automated systems, instrumentation, and other laboratory equipment. The role serves as a bridge between testing needs and technical solutions, helping laboratories improve safety, efficiency, consistency, and testing capabilities. Responsibilities include managing projects from concept through deployment, coordinating fabrication or external vendors as needed, validating and documenting new systems, maintaining existing equipment, and supporting calibration, maintenance, and continuous improvement initiatives.
The role also provides technical guidance and training to laboratory personnel while ensuring compliance with safety requirements, accreditation standards, and applicable regulations.
