The Director of Search and Client Delivery leads Victorious’s SEO and content service teams day to day. This role manages the people doing the work, owns the quality of every search deliverable, balances team capacity against account demand, and builds the workflows and processes that let the team deliver consistently as we grow.
The Director also plays a key client-facing role with enterprise accounts, translating complex SEO into clear marketing outcomes and building confidence in high-stakes conversations.
The Director works alongside the Principal, Search Strategy, who sets the vision for search innovation. Together, they turn new SEO and AI search strategies into services the team can deliver and lead the continuing education that keeps the team current as search evolves.
Core Responsibilities
Team Management:
Lead, coach, and develop SEO and content team leads, building leadership depth across every service team.
Set clear expectations, goals, and performance measures for team members, and run regular one-on-ones and performance reviews.
Partner with leadership and People Ops on hiring, onboarding, and role design, using capacity forecasts to time new hires.
Build a culture where SEO and content professionals operate as a single strategic unit with shared goals and clear accountability.Client Delivery Support:
Support account teams as needed on client strategy and creative approaches, and help troubleshoot performance challenges.
Provide escalation support to team members, helping them deliver high-quality services that translate complex SEO insights into clear, outcome-driven narratives.
Join high-value client calls to build confidence and connect our search strategies to the broader marketing goals and business outcomes our clients want to achieve.
Partner with Marketing and Sales to strengthen new business efforts, drawing on your fluency in how SEO and AI search drive marketing growth and competitive advantage.
Quality Assurance:
Own the quality standards for all search deliverables, aligned to Victorious’s search methodology.
Design and run QA processes, such as review checklists, peer review, and spot audits, that catch issues before work reaches clients.
Review a sample of deliverables across accounts on a regular cadence and use the findings to coach individuals and refine standards.
Track recurring quality issues and fix their root causes through templates and process changes, feeding skill gaps into the team’s education roadmap.
Capacity Management:
Forecast team capacity against current account load, upcoming onboardings, and the sales pipeline, and flag gaps to leadership early.
Assign and rebalance account coverage so workloads stay sustainable and client commitments are met on time.
Monitor utilization and time-tracking data to spot over- and under-allocation across the team.
Partner with Sales and Account Management on scoping so new work is resourced realistically before it’s sold.
Workflow and Process Improvement:
Map service workflows end to end and identify bottlenecks, handoff gaps, and redundant steps.
Build and maintain the SOPs, templates, and tools that let the team deliver consistently at scale.
Partner with Operations on project management and time-tracking systems so they reflect how the team actually works.
Measure the impact of process changes on turnaround time, quality, and profitability.
Innovation and Team Education (with the Principal Search Director):
Partner with the Principal Search Director to turn new SEO and AI search strategies into repeatable services the team can deliver.
Co-own the team’s continuing education program, including training, knowledge sharing, and skill development across traditional and AI search.
Lead the rollout of new methodologies into team workflows, with updated documentation and QA standards.
Skills, Knowledge, and Ability
Proven experience managing and developing teams of SEO and content professionals, including people managers, in a culture of collaboration and accountability.
Track record building QA programs and quality standards for search deliverables in an agency or service environment.
Hands-on experience with capacity planning and utilization management, including using time-tracking and project data to make staffing decisions.
Strong operational mindset, with experience designing workflows, SOPs, and project management systems that teams actually adopt.
Deep working knowledge of SEO, content strategy, and AI search, enough to evaluate strategic work, diagnose performance issues, and coach strategists to improve.
Clear, direct communicator who gives actionable feedback and handles escalations calmly with clients and internal stakeholders.
Comfort operating in ambiguity, with the ability to create clarity and focus in fast-changing environments.

New services and methods developed with the Principal Search Director reach the team quickly through training and updated processes.
