Position Summary
We are looking for a Customer Engineer to deliver field-based technical support across an assigned territory in the UAE. You will install, maintain and repair customer equipment, with a particular focus on ATMs, kiosks, retail point-of-sale systems, PCs, workstations, printers and related peripherals.
You will take ownership of customer incidents from initial response through resolution or appropriate escalation, helping to maintain service continuity and meet agreed Service Level Agreements. This role is well suited to an early-career technical professional who enjoys practical problem-solving, customer interaction and working independently in a field environment.
This position forms part of NCR Atleos’ Emiratisation hiring programme and is open exclusively to UAE Nationals.
Key Areas of Responsibility
- Installing, maintaining and repairing supported equipment across an assigned territory, including ATMs, kiosks, retail point-of-sale systems, PCs, workstations, printers and peripherals.
- Diagnosing technical issues, completing minor repairs, modular swaps and component replacements, and escalating more complex incidents to the appropriate support team.
- Taking ownership of customer incidents through resolution, while meeting agreed service levels and keeping customers informed of progress.
- Performing preventative maintenance and site-preparation activities, including equipment staging, cabling, installation support and basic testing.
- Building effective working relationships with customers, colleagues, the Control Tower, Call Centre teams and security escorts while representing NCR Atleos professionally.
- Maintaining accurate service records, customer asset data, parts inventory, expenses and activity reports, while safeguarding assigned tools, software, vehicles and documentation.
- Following all applicable security and safety procedures when working on ATMs, at financial institutions and at other customer locations.
Basic Qualifications
- High school diploma or an ITE, polytechnic or equivalent technical qualification in electronics, communications engineering, IT or a related discipline.
- Up to one year of relevant experience in field service, retail EPOS installation or maintenance, PC hardware support, electronics or a related technical environment.
- Working knowledge of Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office and PC hardware, including desktops, peripherals and basic networking equipment.
- Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, with good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage priorities and deliver accurate work within agreed deadlines.
- Strong customer-service and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with customers and internal teams.
- Ability to travel within the assigned territory, safely lift and carry tools or parts weighing up to 50 lbs. (approximately 23 kg), and work a flexible schedule that may include rotating shifts, nights, weekends, overtime and on-call support.
- UAE citizenship, as this position forms part of NCR Atleos’ Emiratisation hiring programme.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate degree or equivalent technical qualification.
- CompTIA A+ certification or equivalent hardware-support certification.
- CCNA certification or foundational networking knowledge.
- Previous experience supporting NCR Atleos or similar ATM, kiosk, EPOS or self-service equipment.
