InterContinental Abu Dhabi is looking for a passionate, skilled, and motivated Demi Chef de Partie to join our culinary team at our Sports Bar. The ideal candidate will support the daily kitchen operations by preparing high-quality dishes, maintaining consistency in food presentation, and ensuring every plate meets the hotel's culinary and food safety standards. A little taste of your day-to-day:

Every day is different, but you will mainly be responsible for:

• Assist the Chef de Partie in the daily operation and supervision of the assigned kitchen section.
• Prepare, cook, and present dishes in accordance with approved recipes, portion standards, and presentation guidelines.
• Ensure food is consistently prepared to the highest standards of quality, taste, freshness, and presentation.
• Support the preparation of the Sports Bar menu, including snacks, appetisers, main courses, and other menu items as required.
• Ensure all ingredients are properly prepared, stored, labelled, and available for smooth kitchen operations.
• Maintain appropriate stock levels and inform the Chef de Partie of any shortages or replenishment requirements.
• Monitor food quality, freshness, and expiry dates, following the hotel's food safety and storage procedures.
• Ensure all kitchen equipment, utensils, and workstations are clean, sanitised, and properly maintained.
• Follow established food safety, hygiene, and HACCP standards throughout all preparation and cooking activities.
• Assist with daily mise en place and ensure the kitchen section is fully prepared before service begins.
• Coordinate effectively with colleagues and other kitchen sections to ensure timely food preparation and smooth service.
• Maintain consistency in portion control while minimising food waste and supporting effective cost control.
• Assist in receiving and checking deliveries, ensuring ingredients meet the required quality and freshness standards.
• Follow instructions from senior chefs and contribute to menu preparation, kitchen improvements, and new dish trials when required.
• Support kitchen opening and closing procedures, ensuring all assigned duties are completed to the required standards.
• Maintain a professional attitude, strong teamwork, and a commitment to continuous learning and development.

What we need from you:

• Previous experience as a Demi Chef de Partie, Commis Chef, or in a similar kitchen role, preferably within a hotel or restaurant environment.
• Formal culinary training or relevant kitchen experience is an advantage.
• Good knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and kitchen operations.
• Understanding of food safety, hygiene, HACCP, and proper food storage procedures.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to food quality and consistency.
• Good organisational skills and the ability to manage assigned tasks effectively.
• A positive attitude, willingness to learn, and ability to work collaboratively within a multicultural team.
• Flexibility to work rotational shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
