Reference Data Services Junior Analyst - Risk Legal Project - APAC Shift

The Reference Data Services Analyst 1 is a professional trainee role. Requires a good knowledge of the range of processes, procedures and systems used in carrying out assigned tasks and a basic understanding of the underlying concepts and principles upon which the job is based. Applies acquired job skills and technical knowledge to complete routine to moderately complex assignments with guidance as needed. Makes evaluative judgments based on the analysis of factual information and established procedures.
The role supports the operational processing and maintenance of legal agreement reference data and documentation records that underpin global market transactions. The individual will be responsible for performing documentation review, data capture, validation, and archival activities while ensuring data quality, operational accuracy, and compliance with established standards and controls.
This role must have a good understanding of how the team interacts with others in accomplishing the objectives of the area. This role will have limited but direct impact on the business through the quality and accuracy of the services provided. Impact of the job holder is restricted to own job and assigned work activities.
Responsibilities
- Review and process trading documentation, including ISDA, SFT (MRA, GMRA, MSLA, MSFTA), Futures Agreements, and related legal documents.
- Capture, validate, maintain, and remediate legal agreement data to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Investigate documentation and data exceptions, resolving or escalating issues as appropriate.
- Partner with Legal, Credit Risk, Middle Office, and Operations teams to support timely processing and issue resolution.
- Support the digitization, indexing, maintenance, and archival of executed agreements in line with regulatory and records management requirements.
- Contribute to process improvement, data quality, control enhancement, and system-related initiatives.
- Provide high-quality service to internal stakeholders and support operational reporting and metrics.
- Manage assigned tasks and initiatives, ensuring timely and accurate delivery while applying sound judgment in day-to-day activities.
- Adhere to established policies, controls, and regulatory requirements, appropriately assessing and escalating risks when necessary.
- Appropriately assesses risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients, and assets by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing, and reporting control issues with transparency.
Qualifications
- Relevant experience in financial services, reference data operations, documentation management, or a related operational environment is advantageous.
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on data quality and accuracy.
- Ability to analyze issues, identify discrepancies, troubleshoot issues, and escalate appropriately.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills with internal stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Demonstrates ownership, accountability, and a commitment to delivering results.
Education:
- Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent professional experience.
