What We Are Looking For

To supervise the safety, operations, maintenance and reliability of compressors and transmission pipelines and ensure the facilities are operated and maintained in accordance with Company Standards. Facilities include but may not be limited to 4 turbine compressor stations; 2 reciprocating compressor stations, electrical generation units for site power. Approximately 450 miles of mainline transmission pipeline, includes mainline valves, launcher and receiver sites. There are multiple direct reports. Supervisor’s reporting location will be Bloomfield, NM.

What You Will Do

• Manage all PHMSA and regulatory requirements, and be prepared to assist during any inspections or audits for the area of responsibility.
• Monitor and implement company procedures, standards, and best practices.
• Responsible for safety program, environmental compliance, governmental compliance, employee training and development, facility security, technical support and personnel functions within the assigned geographical area.
• Ensure that all requirements on the Operator Qualification (OQ) Program are met for both contract and company employees.
• Provide leadership and technical guidance to compressor and pipeline personnel, and oversee the planning and direction of activities at multiple locations within the area.
• Create, manage, plan and forecast the Capital and O&M Budgets for the area of responsibility.
• Participate in the development of O&M procedures, site specific procedures, project scopes and work plans.
• Identify, report and correct safety and environmental concerns.
• Responsible for overseeing operation and maintenance of equipment, instrumentation, pumps, vessels, pipelines, compressors, auxiliary equipment, engines, turbines, motors, cooling equipment, valves, seals, and other related equipment.
• Oversee construction and/or maintenance activities and other functions performed by third parties on company property or in company right-of-way areas in order to protect company interests.
• Responsible for cash flow management, cost monitoring and control.
• Supervise operations to achieve goals within budgeted funds and available personnel; plan and organize workloads and staff assignments, review progress, direct change in priorities and schedules as needed to assure work is completed in an efficient and timely manner.
• Assist with AFE project preparation, scheduling, monitoring projects costs, and project completion.
• Conduct performance evaluations of direct reports.
• Develop short- and long-range plans, goals and objectives for compressor and pipeline operations.
• Provide support to project management and business development, as needed.
• Organize work for timely completion.
• Complete all applicable documentation and recordkeeping.
• Perform all work in compliance with Company standards, procedures, regulatory, and Company tariff requirements.
• Deal with a wide variety of people with tact, courtesy and professionalism including but not limited to other employees, all levels of management, vendors and customers.
• Speak clearly, both in person and by telephone, using a high level of verbal skills, and listen carefully.
• Maintain a regular, dependable attendance, and high level of job performance.
• Maintain a high regard for personal safety, the safety of company assets and employees, and the general public.
• The supervisor will respond to emergency situations at any hour of the day or night. This includes and may not be limited to being in possession of required equipment and tools, designated forms, policies, regulations, and manuals.
• Carry a company-provided communication device (cell phone) and respond during working hours, and non-working hours as required (e.g., willing and able to support projects 24 hours per day in case of emergencies).
• May be required to work non-traditional hours.
• Will require some out-of-town nights and weekend travel, as needed.
• Other related duties as assigned

What You Need

EDUCATION
• High school diploma or equivalent is required
EXPERIENCE/SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE

• Minimum five (5) years working experience with mechanical and pipeline systems in the natural gas industry.
• Employee supervisory and asset management skills.
• Knowledge and experience in operation of pipeline, measurement and compressor station operations.
• Knowledge and experience in safe handling practices of flammable gases, liquids, and high and low pressure systems.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES & REGISTRATIONS
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers.
COMPETENCIES, SKILLS & ABILITIES

• Good computer skills (knowledge of MS Office, various operating systems, and other company software).
• Good math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals).
• Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage crews at multiple locations and multiple tasks on a daily basis.
• Solid communication (verbal and written), and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated ability to lead towards operational excellence.
• Strong customer focus in dealing with engineering, field operations, and other internal and external groups.
• Ability to effectively organize, plan, prioritize, document, and complete work with a minimum of supervision.

• Ability to perform the required and expected duties with little or no direct supervision.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Must be able to withstand extreme conditions; will work outside in all environmental conditions.
• Must be able to frequently: enter confined spaces; and climb to and work from elevated platforms, ladders and walkways.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 20 pounds in awkward positions, and 50 pounds from floor to waist, with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Must be able to see, hear, walk and talk effectively.
• Must be able to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions.

WORKING CONDITIONS
• Required to carry a company-provided cell phone/pager, and be available to respond during working hours, and non-working hours as needed.

• Must live within 40 miles of the Bloomfield, NM office to provide reasonable response to callouts and emergency situations.
• Travel is required and anticipated to average 30% field time, including 10-15% overnight travel. Occasional night and weekend travel may also be required based on business needs.
• The successful candidate will be required to clear a drug screen and a complete background check, after an offer has been extended and prior to being employed.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
• This is a supervisory position.

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATIONS, COMPETENCIES, SKILLS & ABILITIES (above the minimum requirements; not required but advantageous in this position)

• Associate level or Undergraduate Degree in a technical field, additional technical education/training is a plus.
• Experience developing and managing expense and capital budgets.
• Experience specific to supervising crews with pipeline, compressor station, and measurement station responsibilities highly desirable.
• Knowledge of natural gas engineering and operating procedures is helpful.
• Experience reading and interpreting blueprints, P&IDs, and other diagrams useful.
• Knowledge of company policies, procedures and practices, and regulatory and tariff requirements.
• Knowledge of DOT Part 192 is a plus.

Pay Range

USD $120,000.00 - USD $175,000.00 /Yr.
