Pyramid Healthcare is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Telehealth Counselor – Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist (LCAS) to provide substance use disorder counseling and recovery support to individuals throughout North Carolina.

This position offers the opportunity to deliver counseling services through telehealth while working from one of our designated offices in Walnut Cove, Jacksonville, or Franklin, North Carolina. The selected candidate must be based at and work from one of these office locations to provide virtual counseling services. This is not a fully remote, work-from-home position.

What You'll Do

• Provide individual counseling sessions through telehealth to individuals receiving substance use disorder treatment services.

• Conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments and evaluations.

• Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans based on each client's clinical needs.

• Facilitate virtual group counseling sessions and other therapeutic services as appropriate.

• Complete Level of Care Assessments (LOCAs) as needed.

• Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential clinical documentation within the electronic health record.

• Participate in multidisciplinary treatment team meetings and coordinate care with other providers.

• Provide crisis intervention, assess client needs, and connect individuals with appropriate support services when necessary.

• Assist with discharge planning, aftercare coordination, and ongoing recovery support.

• Participate in utilization review processes and maintain compliance with applicable regulatory, confidentiality, and accreditation standards.

• Support program development, quality improvement initiatives, and other clinical responsibilities as assigned.

• Participate in an on-call rotation as required.

Required Qualifications

• Active North Carolina Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist (LCAS) credential.

• Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, Chemical Dependency, or a related behavioral health field from an accredited institution.

• Ability to work from one of the designated Pyramid Healthcare offices in Walnut Cove, Jacksonville, or Franklin, NC.

• Experience providing substance use disorder treatment services preferred.

• Knowledge of evidence-based counseling practices, treatment planning, and clinical documentation standards.

• Strong assessment, communication, organizational, and crisis intervention skills.

• Ability to provide effective counseling services through telehealth platforms while maintaining client confidentiality and professional boundaries.

Preferred Experience

• Telehealth counseling or virtual behavioral health services.

• Co-occurring mental health and substance use disorder treatment.

• Trauma-informed care and evidence-based therapeutic approaches.

• Individual and group counseling.

• Treatment planning, care coordination, and recovery support services.

• Jacksonville, NC

• Franklin, NC

Counseling services will be delivered through telehealth from the assigned office location. Candidates must be able to work on-site at one of these offices; this position is not fully remote.
