General Requirements

Work cooperatively in a team environment and accept and follow directions.

Experienced in operating a variety of equipment and tools
Able to work well with minimal supervision
Ability to prioritize tasks and follow specified procedures
Able to stand for long periods and climb stairs regularly throughout shift.
Physically capable of lifting 75 pounds unassisted
Ability to regularly lift and / or carry up to 55 pounds individually or up to 100 pounds with assistance.
Ability to squat and bend frequently while lifting up to 55 pounds during shift.
Tolerant of seasonally very warm temperatures.
Basic computer knowledge and skills.

Shift Information:
2 openings are on 1^st shift, hours are 5am – 1pm with rotation on one person stays until end of production every day, which could be as late as 4pm if that is their late day.
1 opening is on 2^nd shift, hours are 2pm – 10pm, but no hard stop if maintenance issues could have to stay later.

Quality Control Requirements

Knowledge of and ability to follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
Complete understanding of Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) and its importance.
Follow and monitor to assure all Safe Quality Food (SQF) guidelines are implemented and followed.
Report any suspicious activity related to food defense.

Note: Required to report food safety problems or concerns immediately to a person with authority to initiate action as indicated on the organizational chart.

Safety Requirements

Be aware of and follow up to date OSHA regulations that apply to the tasks in your job.
Practice safe lifting techniques, bending and lifting with your legs not your back.
Pivot with your feet avoiding twisting at the waist.
Be aware of your surroundings, watching for forklift traffic and trip hazards such as pallets or cords.
Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for the job you are doing.
Maintain proper guards and safety devices when working with machinery and on catwalks.
Never operate equipment for which you have not been properly trained or certified for.

Education/Certifications

High school diploma/GED required
Electromechanical Degree preferred

Job Responsibilities

Troubleshoot and repair industrial machinery and production equipment
Diagnose electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic problems
Troubleshoot motors, drives, relays, contactors, sensors, switches, solenoids, and industrial control circuits
Repair and maintain pneumatic and hydraulic systems
Perform mechanical repairs involving bearings, shafts, gearboxes, chains, belts, pumps, and related components
Diagnose equipment failures and determine the actual root cause rather than simply replacing parts
Perform preventive maintenance where appropriate
Help identify practical improvements that increase equipment reliability, productivity, and safety
Assist in equipment set-up and reassembly.
Complete work order and preventive maintenance reports. Ensure all work is properly documented.
Respond quickly in the event of an emergency. Notify appropriate personnel and follow safety protocol.
Support production and clean-up with breakdowns or repairs.
Perform machine set ups for the next incoming shift.
Perform other tasks as assigned by management.
Respond to reports of suspicious activity related to food defense.
