A bit about the role

We are currently looking for a Residential Support Workers to help us maintain providing excellent support to Children and young people aged 5 – 18.

As you can imagine, there's no job too small at Action for Children. Everyone contributes something special that helps us work towards our vision and our Residential Support Workers play a big part in this.

About the service

The Children’s Short Break centre is a residential home for children with learning and physical disabilities whose disabilities may include brain injuries, diagnosis of autism and complex behaviour, up to the age of 18.

The centre provides a structured environment to give parents and carers the opportunity to ‘recharge their batteries' in the knowledge that their child is in a safe and stimulating environment.

Our priority is putting children first; the children who use short break homes have very complex needs and sometimes life limiting disabilities.

We've been driven by love to take action for children for over 150 years, giving them the protection and practical help they need. A lot’s changed since 1869. But what children really need, hasn’t. So as long as children need us, we’ll be here.
