Silver Fern Farms Dargaville has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Halal Slaughterman to join our processing team on either day or evening shift.
Our ideal candidate is committed to halal principles, takes pride in their work, and enjoys working in a fast-paced processing environment. You will bring a strong focus on quality, teamwork, and health and safety while supporting the delivery of world-class products to global markets.
Ōu Pūkenga, About You:
The successful candidate will have previous halal processing experience and demonstrate a strong commitment to quality, compliance, and teamwork.
- NZQA Record of Learning showing achievement of Unit Standards 25926, 21623, and 25927
- Previous Halal Slaughterman experience in New Zealand is highly desirable
- A practising Muslim with the legal right to live and work in New Zealand
- Membership of an Islamic Society in New Zealand is preferred
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a small team
- A commitment to maintaining halal certification requirements and standards
- Previous food handling experience within a manufacturing or processing environment would be advantageous
- Sound knowledge of workplace health and safety practices
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work in a physically demanding environment
- Ability to work overtime and Saturdays when required

Ngā Hāora Mahi, Hours of Work:
This role operates on either a day or evening shift:
- Day Shift: Monday to Friday, 6:00am to 3:00pm
- Evening Shift: Monday to Friday, 3:30pm to 12:30am
Saturday work and overtime may be required to meet operational demands.
