Reports To: Reporting to Head of IWPB Risk, Taiwan in both Functional and Entity manager
Role Purpose
- Being part of Taiwan IWPB Risk function, the purpose of the role is to support the IWPB Risk Head, Taiwan in the effective identification, assessment, management, monitoring and mitigation of risks across all current and emerging risk types across the Wealth business in Taiwan.
Job Contents
In partnership with the IWPB Risk Head, Taiwan
- Provide independent input and challenge to governance forums within WPS to execute the Risk Strategy and Risk Appetite (ensuring alignment with Group Risk Appetite where necessary)
- Guide the implementation of the Group Risk Policies across Wealth, including any local exceptions to Group Risk Policy with relevant Risk Function Heads
- Provide oversight guidance of the implementation and ongoing effectiveness of risk management and associated procedures and controls across Wealth, including the assessment of vulnerabilities through stress-testing and scenario analysis
- Aggregate the risk profile for Wealth, providing oversight guidance of the business’s overall risk portfolio through judgement, challenge and analysis of risk and reward, ensuring exposures are managed in a consistent and systematic way in accordance with the parameters set by the Risk Appetite Framework
- Proactively identify, assess and provide a forward-looking view on top and emerging risks and issues within the Risk Map, developing mitigating strategies where necessary
- Provide oversight guidance implementation of strategic risk related projects and coordination of the risk transformation agenda across Wealth, developing a cohesive programme and approach and ensuring changes in one area do not adversely impact another
- Act as point of contact across all risk types and issues for the IWPB Risk Head, Taiwan.
- Support the business and Risk in market in the achievement of sustainable growth aspirations, by enabling the business to take risk appropriately and identifying opportunities for immediate and long term growth based on a detailed understanding of strategy, risk profile, products and markets in which the business operates in Wealth
Qualification/License Requirement
- Undergraduate or post-graduate degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Law or a related field
- Fluency in spoken and written business English
- Experience in more than one technical risk discipline. Experience in private banking or wealth management is a strong preference. Front line experience in private banking or wealth management or within HBTW is an added strength
- Strong understanding of the regulatory environment for Wealth business.
