Summary:
Join Presbyterian Medical Group at Rio Rancho High Resort as a Medical Assistant I or Medical Assistant II. In this outpatient role, you’ll work alongside providers and the care team to deliver compassionate, high-quality care while supporting patients throughout their clinic visit.This position offers a Medical Assistant career ladder, with placement at the MA I or MA II level based on experience, education, certifications, and qualifications.

Responsibilities:
- Responsible for performing medical assistant procedures after completion of competency within organizations MA scope of work, under the supervision of a provider and PHS policy.
- Prepares patient for rooming and exam
- Prepares and administers medications and immunizations
- Suture/Staple removal and dressing changes
- Collects and prepares laboratory specimens
- Provides basic education to patients
- Sets up aseptic and sterile procedures
- Performs office-based procedures
- Performs basic foot care
- Assists with additional procedures as determined by provider
- Participates in the orientation of new hire MAs
- May perform regulatory audits
- Assists with visit closure
- Participates with care team to meet patient care and clinic needs.
- May perform scribe duties after completing PMG scribe training
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Six months of MA experience or successful completion of a Medical Assistant or Nursing Assistant program from an accredited school required
- Successful completion of Presbyterian MA Advanced Skills Training within 90 days of hire
- BLS (AHA, Red Cross or ASHI Healthcare Provider) required
- Maintains current certifications in required emergency response trainings (i.e. BLS)
- Completes all Organizational, Department of Nursing and Department-Specific competency training/requirements within specified timeframe.
