Job Description: As a member of Mental Health Services, the Social Worker is an integral member of the multidisciplinary team. Responsibilities include screening, crisis intervention, counselling, goal planning, consultation, preparation of reports, data collection and client, family and public education. "Preference for this position will be given to HSAS members in accordance with the terms and conditions of the SAHO/HSAS Collective Agreement"

Ability to work independently
Knowledge in applicable policies, procedures and standards
Willingness to take CPR and PART

Knowledge of mental health and mental illness issues in a variety of settings
Knowledge in mental health and mental illness across life cycle
Demonstrate knowledge of the Mental Health Services Act/related legislation
Initiative & judgment to plan implement/modify treatment programs for clients
Willingness to learn about a variety of assessment tools
Knowledge in appropriate systems theory and interventions
Knowledge in applicable health promotion and health prevention initiatives
Ability to work with CMHNs to deliver education program to families
Knowledge in mental health/mental illness impact on client, family and community
Ability to work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team
Knowledge in health promotion and prevention strategies
