Position Summary
The Laundry Aide plays an important role in ensuring residents have clean clothing, linens, and bedding every day. This position helps create a comfortable, sanitary, and welcoming environment by maintaining high standards of cleanliness and laundry care.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect, sort, wash, dry, fold, and distribute resident clothing and facility linens
- Ensure resident laundry is returned accurately and in a timely manner
- Label and organize resident clothing as needed
- Maintain adequate linen inventory throughout the facility
- Inspect laundry items for damage, stains, or excessive wear
- Operate laundry equipment safely and efficiently
- Follow infection control, sanitation, and safety procedures
- Keep laundry areas clean, organized, and properly stocked
- Report equipment malfunctions and maintenance concerns promptly
- Assist other environmental services tasks as needed
- Provide friendly, courteous service to residents and staff
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous laundry, housekeeping, or healthcare experience preferred
- Ability to follow instructions and safety procedures
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Dependable attendance and strong work ethic
- Compassion for the senior population
