Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced SAP SuccessFactors Time Off & Time Tracking Lead to join our growing Reinvention Services team at Manager level. In this role, you will serve as the primary Functional Subject Matter Expert across SAP SuccessFactors Time Management and Employee Central Time Off, guiding clients through complex workforce time process transformations and driving measurable operational outcomes.
You will take ownership of team decisions, engage across multiple cross-functional workstreams, and provide solutions to problems that span delivery teams. This is an exceptional opportunity for a SuccessFactors specialist who combines technical depth with the ability to lead, influence, and strategically advise at a senior level.
Key Responsibilities
Functional SME Leadership
- Serve as the primary Subject Matter Expert for SAP SuccessFactors Time Management and Employee Central Time Off, ensuring functional correctness and alignment with real operational business needs.
- Apply deep knowledge of business processes and expected system behaviour to validate requirements, configurations, and workflows with client stakeholders.
- Ensure solutions are fit for purpose, technically sound, and aligned to both HR and business objectives throughout the project lifecycle.
- Drive the adoption of best practices, quality standards, and governance frameworks across all project engagements.
Solution Design & Process Improvement
- Lead the analysis and refinement of workforce time business processes, aligning them with SAP SuccessFactors system capabilities and overall project goals.
- Define clear project scope and detailed functional and technical specifications to guide solution development and configuration teams.
- Develop and support proof of concepts, solution estimates, and conceptual designs to validate approaches and build stakeholder confidence.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives by identifying functional gaps, anticipating system challenges, and proposing innovative, scalable enhancements.
- Contribute to strategic planning activities by assessing risks, recommending effective approaches, and aligning delivery with long-term client objectives.
Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams — including HR, Payroll, IT, and Change Management — to ensure seamless integration and end-to-end delivery of solutions.
- Engage directly with client business leads and project sponsors to validate requirements and present recommendations with clarity and commercial insight.
- Facilitate workshops and working sessions to align stakeholders on solution design, configuration decisions, and go-live readiness.
- Champion change management efforts to support smooth adoption of new time management processes and technologies across client organisations.
Team Leadership & Practice Development
- Take accountability for team decisions within the workstream, providing clear direction and resolving cross-team challenges with confidence.
- Mentor and support team members by actively sharing expertise, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
- Engage with multiple delivery teams simultaneously, providing solutions and guidance that apply across workstreams.
- Contribute to the growth of Accenture's SAP SuccessFactors practice through knowledge sharing, methodology development, and market positioning activities.
Skills & Expertise
Core Technical Skills
- Expert proficiency in SAP SuccessFactors Time Management — configuration, rules engine, time types, work schedules, and absence management.
- Expert proficiency in SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Time Off (strongly recommended) — accrual management, time account types, and leave policies.
- Strong capability in Business Process Mapping and workforce time process re-engineering.
- Proficiency in requirements gathering, functional and technical specification writing, and solution documentation.
- Experience in integration design between Time Management, Employee Central, and downstream Payroll systems.
Enabling & Advisory Skills
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills — ability to engage and advise at senior client and business sponsor level.
- Advanced proficiency in Business Process Analysis — translating complex operational time and attendance challenges into structured, implementable solution approaches.
- Understanding of Accenture's SAP ecosystem strategy and how SuccessFactors solutions integrate within broader digital and cloud architectures.
- Change management capability — supporting clients through process transitions with empathy, structure, and practical guidance.
- Strong team leadership skills — ability to manage, coach, and elevate team performance across geographically distributed engagements.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 8 years of hands-on SAP SuccessFactors experience, with significant focus on Time Management and/or Employee Central Time Off modules.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field; postgraduate qualification advantageous.
- SAP SuccessFactors certification in Time Management and/or Employee Central (required); additional module certifications advantageous.
- Demonstrated experience in a client-facing consulting or advisory role, ideally within a global systems integrator or professional services environment.
- Proven track record of leading or co-leading full-cycle SuccessFactors implementations, including go-live and hypercare phases.
- Experience operating at Manager level or equivalent — comfortable with team accountability, cross-functional collaboration, and senior stakeholder engagement.
- Exposure to South African and broader African HR, labour legislation, and workforce compliance requirements advantageous.
