ROOM TECHNICIAN

Job Summary: The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that furniture, fixtures and equipment in guest rooms and associated areas are properly maintained. He/She works closely with the Rooms Division to ensure that the physical appearance in and around the room is in keeping with the highest quality and standards.

Responsibilities:

Checking electrical, air conditioning and plumbing equipment and fixtures in rooms to ensure they are in optimum condition physically and operationally
Checking carpentry, painting, masonry and tiling in the rooms to ensure the rooms are in optimum condition
Inspecting internal and external structure of rooms and reporting defects
Assisting senior technicians and tradesmen for more complex repairs as necessary
Carrying out assigned duties in respect of firefighting, fire protection and safety, and familiarity with operating firefighting equipment

Qualifications:

Minimum of a High School Leaving Certificate/Diploma
Certificate from recognised Tertiary and/or Vocational Training Institution
Skill level and/or Technical Competence equivalent to at least Level III HEART Trust NTA certification
Previous experience in similar role or related field
