PAINTER
Job Summary: The painter is responsible for maintaining a high degree of maintenance services to the hotel and its guests. Additional responsibilities may include but are not limited to responding to service orders, maintaining all stock and materials used, and management of projects assigned.
Responsibilities:
- Applying all types of fillers, paints, stains, varnishes, enamels, and surface coatings
- Carrying out polishing work on furniture and fittings as required
- Carrying out spray painting as required
- Repairing and applying all types of wall covering
- Assisting with establishing a stock of supplies and equipment necessary to carry out work
- Assisting in other trade areas when instructed by a member of the supervisory team
- Advising on major repairs/changes required
- Carrying out assigned duties in respect of firefighting, fire protection, and safety, and is familiar with the operation of firefighting equipment
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Three (3) years' experience painting and wallpaper background, including tile and drywall knowledge
- Carpentry experience required
- Basic mechanical troubleshooting experience
- Must pass respirator tests and have basic troubleshooting skills, electricity, plumbing, etc
Work Environment:
- Indoor space/ Workshop
- Outdoors in varying temperatures
- May be required to work outside of normal hours, on weekends, and public holidays
- Must be able to assist the Engineering Team & Hotel dependent on workload of the department
