Your New Role
Join a new Financial Crime Operations team at the front line of protecting members' retirement savings. In this 12-month contract you will help protect members and AustralianSuper through the proactive detection, prevention, assessment and escalation of fraud, scams, identity crime, account misuse and other financial crime risks.
You will apply identity monitoring, risk-based analysis and professional judgement to identify potential threats and reduce member harm. Working across multiple data sources, technologies and operational controls, you will distinguish genuine member activity from potentially suspicious activity and support informed operational and regulatory responses.
Key duties include but are not limited to;
Review identity verification outcomes, referrals and risk indicators to determine whether to clear, request further information, restrict activity or escalate.
Investigate alerts generated by fraud monitoring tools and operational controls, identifying false positives and progressing genuine concerns.
Examine member, account, transaction, device and behavioural information to identify anomalies, patterns and indicators of potential financial crime.
Apply proportionate safeguards and urgent escalation pathways where there is a credible risk of loss, unauthorised access or member harm.
Prioritise cases according to risk, urgency and member impact, maintaining clear ownership through to closure, hand-off or escalation.
Document evidence, analysis, decisions, rationale, actions and approvals in a complete, accurate and auditable manner.
Escalate complex, high-risk, systemic or policy-exception matters to relevant financial crime, risk, legal, privacy, complaints or operational stakeholders.
Identify emerging risks, control gaps and opportunities to improve detection rules, procedures, training and member communications.
What You’ll Need
Experience in fraud operations, financial crime operations, investigations, risk management, banking, superannuation, insurance or another regulated operational environment.
Demonstrated experience assessing alerts, referrals, exceptions or other risk-based activities.
Strong analytical and problem-solving capability, with the ability to interpret information from multiple sources and form evidence-based conclusions.
