The Marriott Phoenix Chandler, located in Chandler- a Southeast suburb of Phoenix, is the newest Full Service Marriott in the state of Arizona! Featuring 264 Guest Rooms and over 21,000 sq ft of event space, this hotel has the largest Ballroom in Chandler, AZ! Within the hotel, Proof ’19 features handcrafted cocktails, local beers, and Southwest cuisine. We Proudly Brew Starbucks Café serves a morning pick-me-up and variety of breakfast options. The hotel features modern décor and is situated within the Price Road Corridor, near some of Arizona’s largest employers, including Fortune 100 & 500 companies.

Position Summary

The M Club Breakfast Attendant / Starbucks Barista is a dual-role position responsible for delivering exceptional guest service in both the M Club Lounge and the hotel's Starbucks operation. This position supports the daily preparation and maintenance of the complimentary breakfast service while also preparing Starbucks beverages, processing transactions, and assisting guests with their food and beverage needs.

The ideal candidate is friendly, professional, detail-oriented, and passionate about hospitality. This individual will maintain high standards of cleanliness, food safety, product quality, and guest satisfaction while adapting to the operational needs of both service areas. The successful candidate will represent the Marriott Phoenix Chandler Hotel and Pyramid Global Hospitality by creating welcoming, memorable experiences for hotel guests and customers.

Key Responsibilities

M Club Breakfast Attendant

Prepare and set up the M Club breakfast buffet, coffee stations, beverage service, and dining areas before service begins.
Maintain an attractive, clean, and fully stocked buffet throughout breakfast service, replenishing hot and cold food items, cereals, pastries, beverages, and other offerings as needed.
Welcome guests, provide friendly and attentive service, answer questions, and respond to requests or concerns professionally.
Clear tables promptly and maintain clean, organized, and presentable dining and service areas.
Follow established food safety, sanitation, food storage, temperature-control, and food-handling procedures.
Monitor inventory and replenish napkins, utensils, plates, cups, and other service supplies.
Clean and sanitize buffet equipment, counters, tables, floors, and surrounding areas before, during, and after service.
Communicate product shortages, equipment concerns, and guest feedback to management.
Complete breakfast breakdown and ensure the lounge is properly cleaned and prepared for the next service period.

Starbucks Barista

Greet customers, take orders accurately, provide menu and product information, and recommend additional items when appropriate.
Prepare coffee, espresso beverages, teas, and other menu items in accordance with applicable Starbucks, Marriott, and property service standards.
Operate the point-of-sale system, process cash and credit card transactions accurately, provide correct change, and follow established cash-handling procedures.
Maintain knowledge of coffee products, beverage preparation methods, menu offerings, and available food and beverage items.
Maintain clean, sanitary, stocked, and organized beverage preparation, customer seating, and storage areas.
Monitor product and supply levels and notify management when replenishment is needed.
Follow all applicable food safety, sanitation, safety, security, and operational procedures.
Maintain a calm, positive, and professional demeanor during busy periods while ensuring efficient and accurate service.
Provide friendly, engaging service that reflects the hotel's commitment to quality and guest satisfaction.

General Responsibilities

Deliver exceptional guest service consistent with Marriott brand standards and Pyramid Global Hospitality's service expectations.
Maintain a professional appearance and comply with applicable grooming standards, attendance expectations, and workplace policies.
Communicate effectively with Food & Beverage leadership and other hotel departments to support daily operations.
Maintain awareness of guest needs and take initiative to resolve concerns within the scope of the position.
Demonstrate flexibility by transitioning between M Club breakfast service and Starbucks duties according to the established schedule and business needs.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment at all times.
Perform additional Food & Beverage duties and other responsibilities as assigned by management.

What are we looking for?

Qualifications

Previous customer service, food service, or hospitality experience preferred.
Previous barista or coffee preparation experience is a plus.
Food Handler certification required as applicable to local regulations and property requirements.
Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to provide friendly, professional, and attentive service to guests and customers.
Ability to learn beverage preparation standards, menu offerings, food safety practices, and hotel operating procedures.
Basic math skills and the ability to process transactions accurately.
Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and contribute positively to a team environment.
Reliable attendance and punctuality.
Availability to work mornings, afternoons, weekends, and holidays based on operational needs.

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
Ability to bend, twist, reach, and perform repetitive movements as required.
Ability to lift, carry, and move food, beverage supplies, and equipment within the requirements of the position.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining service and cleanliness standards.
