Senior Business Specialist

Job Summary

Must Have

• Strong experience as a Business Analyst / Technical Business Analyst working on technology delivery initiatives.
• Ability to elicit, analyse, document and validate business and technical requirements, translating business needs into clear requirements for engineering teams.
• Experience developing user stories, acceptance criteria, functional requirements, process flows and technical requirements.
• Strong understanding of APIs and system integrations, including the ability to analyse API specifications, request/response structures, data mappings and integration dependencies.
• Ability to understand and document end-to-end system and data flows across multiple applications or platforms.
• Experience working with technical stakeholders, including software engineers, solution architects, testers, product owners and delivery leads.
• Strong data analysis and mapping skills, including identifying source-to-target transformations, business rules, data dependencies and data quality issues.
• Ability to investigate existing systems and processes, perform gap and impact analysis, and identify functional and technical dependencies.
• Experience working in Agile delivery environments, including backlog refinement, sprint planning, story elaboration and supporting development/testing throughout delivery.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work through complex or ambiguous requirements and convert them into actionable outcomes.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience using relevant delivery and documentation tools such as Jira and Confluence or equivalent.

Nice to Have:

• Experience working with graph databases and graph data modelling, including designing and interpreting nodes, relationships, properties and graph-based data structures.
• Experience with SQL and the ability to query and analyse data independently.
• Hands-on experience with API tools such as Postman, Swagger / OpenAPI or equivalent.
• Understanding of event-driven architectures, messaging, microservices and distributed systems.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or GCP.
• Experience working with data transformation, migration or reconciliation initiatives.
• Familiarity with non-functional requirements, including performance, availability, resilience, security and observability.
• Ability to interpret solution architecture and technical design documentation.
• Experience supporting system, integration and user acceptance testing, including defect triage and requirements traceability.
• Experience working in large-scale, complex or highly regulated enterprise environments.
• Relevant BA, Agile, cloud or technology certifications.
