What We're Looking For

At HNTB, you can create a career that is meaningful to you while building communities that matter to all of us. For more than a century, we have been delivering solutions for some of the largest, most complex infrastructure projects across the country. With our historic growth, it is an exciting time to join our team of employee-owners.

HNTB is seeking a highly motivated, collaborative, and relationship-driven Project Manager to join our growing Multimodal, Freight & Economics practice within our larger Planning & Environment Group. The ideal candidate is passionate about solving complex transportation challenges, enjoys working across disciplines, and thrives in a team environment that values collaboration, innovation, and professional growth. Working alongside planners, economists, engineers, environmental specialists, and public engagement professionals, you will help clients advance freight mobility, rail and highway investments, economic competitiveness, multimodal connectivity, and infrastructure funding strategies. This role offers the opportunity to shape impactful transportation solutions while contributing to the growth of a nationally recognized freight, rail, and economics practice.

This position is responsible for leading projects throughout their full lifecycle, from scope development, proposal preparation, and procurement support through contract negotiation, project delivery, and closeout. The Project Manager will lead multidisciplinary teams in the delivery of freight, rail, truck parking, multimodal transportation, and economic planning projects; proactively manage project scope, budgets, schedules, technical requirements, contractual obligations, and client communications; and ensure successful project outcomes that align with HNTB's 4 for 4 performance commitment: quality work, delivered on time, on budget, and to the client's satisfaction. Responsibilities also include developing and pursuing new business opportunities, cultivating relationships with clients and teaming partners, collaborating with practice and technical leaders on strategic growth initiatives and pursuit decisions, representing the practice at industry conferences and events, and mentoring emerging professionals to support their continued growth and development.
