Role Outline

The Logistics Specialist is a strategic role for developing and improving existing operations. The Logistics Specialist will use a Site Development Plan (SDP) to manage and implement strategic DSC Operations Excellence initiatives/programs to develop and grow the performance of existing operations. While working hand-in-hand with the Site Management and Operational Teams an SDP will be created to: (1) stabilize, develop and grow the performance of the site in a standard and sustainable way; (2) support the Operations Excellence Functional Leads, through the application/implementation of standard DSC Operations Excellence Programs & Tools.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the creation of a Site Development Plan to consolidate all the actions agreed between: Site Management, General Management, BU Director and Operations Excellence Lead.
• Ensure that the Site Development Plan is in line with the DSC strategic initiatives & programs and focuses on maximizing the performance potential of the site : customer centricity and continuous improvement.
• Implement a regular review meeting structure (TDM) with the Site Management Teams to ensure that there is strong control over the content
• Facilitates workshops and meetings in his/her area of responsibility to support actions listed in SDP

• Actively looks for best practices across the entire organisation and works with the CI and Logistics Engineering Teams to develop and incubate new solutions that he/she brings to the sites allocated to him/her to further enhance the Site Development Plans
• Laises with the different internal and external stakeholders (suppliers, regional and cluster functional teams, etc) in support of the Site Development
• Support sites classified as Low Performing Margin Contract (LPMC) or poor start ups, to drive improvement/turn around plans via their Site
• Ensures that BASICS / The DHL Way is in place and that the closure of gaps are managed via the SDP
• Escalates risks and issues towards Operations Excellence and Business Unit Leads
• Supports renewals, new business offerings in his/her area of responsibility

Education / Qualification / Certification

• OMS4Implementers Certification is preferable
• CSCS Foundation Certified
• CSCM Certified
• Operations Essentials Certified
• Leadership Essentials Certified
• Certified GoGreen Specialist
• ISO Auditor certified - preferable
