Job Summary
We are looking for a hands-on Design Manager – MEP to drive the detailed mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineering for our high-density AI data center portfolio.
You will lead the day-to-day engineering design, spatial coordination, and technical verification for high-density power distribution, primary/secondary liquid cooling topologies, and environmental control systems built to host 100 kW to 150 kW+ per rack GPU deployments.
Key Responsibilities
Mechanical & Liquid Cooling Engineering
Hydronic & Liquid Cooling Layouts: Manage detailed engineering for direct-to-chip liquid cooling systems, Coolant Distribution Units (CDUs), secondary fluid networks (TCS), and rear door heat exchangers (RDHx).
Thermal Management: Design redundant primary chilled water loops, dry cooler systems, dynamic airflow distribution, and precise fluid pressure/flow rate controls tailored to GPU clusters.
Redundancy & Efficiency: Ensure mechanical topologies maintain Concurrent Maintainability (Tier III/IV concepts) while optimizing Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) and Water Usage Effectiveness (WUE).
2. Electrical Systems & Power Topology
Ultra-High Power Density: Manage single-line diagrams (SLDs) and detailed design for high-voltage substations, MV/LV transformers, uninterrupted power supply (UPS) systems, and generator backup systems.
In-Rack Power Distribution: Coordinate busway design, power whip routing, and high-amperage PDU layouts engineered for 100 kW to 150 kW+ rack thresholds.
3. Plumbing, Fire Protection & BIM Coordination
Specialized Piping & Leak Detection: Oversee stainless steel/copper piping networks for cooling loops, including pressure testing standards, water treatment plants, dynamic leak detection, and automatic shut-off systems.
Fire Suppression Integration: Design double-interlock pre-action sprinkler systems, clean-agent gas suppression systems, and Early Warning Smoke Detection (VESDA) compatible with liquid cooling fluid runs.
BIM / 3D Spatial Coordination: Lead 3D clash detection, spatial routing, and Navisworks models to ensure tight coordination between MEP services, structural steel, and core & shell infrastructure.
