Blood Pressure Technician- Nephrology/Hypertension Clinic

The Blood Pressure Technician is responsible and expected to perform multiple roles within the Division of Nephrology and Hypertension. Assists physician(s) with cardiac diagnostic testing and performs all tasks relating to automated blood pressure monitoring, Holter monitoring and Hemodynamic testing. Job expectations include: obtaining and recording patient information; placement and removal of cardiac testing devices; prepping and education patients for testing; downloading results; assisting physicians with interpretation of findings; editing, producing, and finalizing reports after physician interpretation; managing calendars within Epic; cleaning patient exam rooms; ordering and maintaining equipment; and providing support for the nursing staff regarding Hemodynamics testing.
Responsible for the training of new and float staff. Uses effective judgment and problem solving skills in a teamwork environment. Maintains a high level of expertise.
Independently functions with minimal supervision. Requires competence in a variety of equipment and the ability to navigate multiple electronic applications (e.g., Spacelabs [Sentinel] and ABPM). Practices safety guidelines for themselves, support personnel, and patients.
May be asked to assist with emergency situations when they arise. Maintains flexibility and may be required to work varied hours and shift lengths.
