About the team and position
The Workers’ Compensation Return to Work (RTW) Coordinator oversees the day-to-day administration of Carvana’s Transitional Duty Program, enabling employees to safely and efficiently resume work following a job-related injury or illness. This role ensures all return-to-work activities prioritize employee safety, follow medical guidance, and comply with company policies and workers’ compensation regulations. The RTW Coordinator manages return-to-work accommodations for employees with medically prescribed restrictions (light or modified duty) and those released to full duty. This includes coordinating suitable assignments, tracking restrictions and release dates, and keeping all stakeholders informed throughout the process. The position also provides administrative and operational support for the broader Workers’ Compensation program. Serving as the primary point of contact for the Transitional Duty Program, the RTW Coordinator works closely with Human Resources, Workers’ Compensation claims adjusters, injured employees, and their managers to promote timely communication and a positive return-to-work experience. The RTW Coordinator documents activities, correspondence, and decisions in the company’s Risk Management Information System (“RMIS”). This position reports directly to the Corporate Insurance Team Lead within the Corporate Insurance Department.
