Engineer, Central Engineering Steam Projects Civil Civil/Structural Engineer

The Steam and Gas Engineering Department of Central Engineering is seeking to hire highly motivated and dedicated professionals to join its Steam Projects Civil Section. The candidates must be well organized, detail-oriented and able to render sound technical decisions while handling multiple assignments. The individuals must have a high regard for personal accountability and understand the critical importance of the departments commitment to technical, environmental, and safety excellence.
Successful candidates must be able to meet deadlines and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with personnel on all levels and organizations including outside companies. The ideal candidate for this dynamic position must demonstrate a high energy level, understand the vital importance of Commitment to Excellence, and possess a high regard for Con Edisons Corporate Values and Mission.
Must have excellent interpersonal skills to effectively interact with internal/external customers and agencies and various levels of management. The candidates must have a proven record of accomplishments in providing engineering support for various types of industrial/utility building /structure design, analysis, inspection, repair and construction field supports. Must possess strong oral and written communication skills.
Strong leadership skills including experience in direct supervision, and the ability to positively manage and motivate others is required. Additionally, strong computer skills and familiarity with the Incident Command System are required. Computer literacy (including MS Office) is required.
Must also be available for emergency work 24/7 as required by system conditions.
