About Lokal
In 2018, we began with a WhatsApp group with a simple hypothesis: people in tier-2/3 towns weren’t really using the internet meaningfully yet. We believed that if we started with local content in their own language, they’d come back every day; once there was a habit and trust, that same space could naturally grow into classifieds and, eventually, something they used for almost everything online. This spark became Lokal.
Our first instinct was to put everything in one place & one app - local updates, classifieds, jobs, matrimony and more. It worked, till it stopped working. Users gave us the insight - when one use case outweighs the others, everything else seems like noise.
We listened. Like how Craigslist quietly seeded a generation of focused companies & marketplaces, we began unbundling and verticalising.

We are looking for a creative and audience-focused Video Content Creator / Content Strategist who can transform ideas, scripts, and learning topics into engaging video content. The role will focus on creating informative, entertaining, and relatable videos that capture audience attention, simplify complex concepts, and encourage viewers to learn, engage, and explore more content on Gyan TV.
Role Overview
We’re looking for a Video Content Creator & Content Strategist to create engaging, informative, and audience-focused video content for Gyan TV.
The role requires strong scriptwriting, storytelling, creative ideation, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to turn educational topics and practical information into compelling videos, short-form reels, explainers, and promotional content.
The ideal candidate should understand how to make learning content interesting and easy to understand, develop attention-grabbing hooks, and create videos that connect with regional audiences across digital platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop creative concepts and write engaging scripts for educational videos, skill-learning content, informative reels, explainers, and promotional videos.
- Transform complex topics, practical knowledge, and learning concepts into simple, relatable, and engaging video stories.
- Research relevant topics, audience interests, regional trends, and competitor content to identify new content opportunities.
- Create compelling hooks, introductions, storytelling formats, and calls to action (CTAs) to capture and retain audience attention.
- Present content on camera when required, delivering information confidently, clearly, and engagingly.
- Develop content ideas and formats suitable for platforms such as YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels, and other digital video platforms.
- Adapt scripts and storytelling approaches for different audience segments, learning needs, and regional-language audiences.
- Collaborate with video editors, language experts, and marketing teams to plan and execute video content.
- Support video production by coordinating scripts, shoot requirements, visual references, and creative execution.
- Explore new storytelling formats, trends, and creative approaches to make educational and skill-based content more engaging.
- Review content performance and audience engagement insights to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Contribute ideas for promotional videos and campaigns that increase awareness, engagement, and viewership for Gyan TV.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Media, Journalism, Business, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
- 0–4 year of experience in video content creation, scriptwriting, content creation, digital media, or a related field. Freshers with strong creative and communication skills can apply.
- Strong Hindi and English communication and scriptwriting skills. Kannada or other regional-language skills are an advantage.
- Excellent storytelling, creative thinking, and the ability to explain topics in a simple and engaging manner.
- Understanding of YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels, educational videos, explainers, and digital content formats.
- Ability to develop creative hooks, engaging introductions, informative scripts, and audience-focused content ideas.
- Confidence in front of the camera and good presentation skills are an advantage.
- Basic knowledge of video editing tools such as CapCut, Adobe Premiere Pro, or similar tools is an advantage.
- Strong research skills, attention to detail, curiosity, and willingness to experiment with new content formats.
- Interest in education, skill development, edutainment, digital media, and regional-language content is an advantage.
