About This Role:

Workplace Arrangements:

This role operates our of our Ottawa Home Office on Walkley road 5 days a week (Tuesday-Saturday, 7:30am-4:00pm). Once the incumbent is trained they would be added to a pager rotation for evenings and weekend coverage with additional pay for the rotation.

We're looking for a hands-on, dependable Building Maintenance Technician to help keep our Ottawa facilities safe, clean, and running smoothly.

In this role, you'll handle general building maintenance, complete routine inspections, coordinate with external service providers, and respond to maintenance requests from employees and other building occupants. What You'll Be Doing:

• Perform daily inspections and repairs of all areas of the buildings and exterior property for HO, MBO, 55 Banton and #82 in accordance with health and safety regulations.
• Coordinate with external contractors, providing access to facilities, monitoring completed work, and ensuring work areas are safe and clean.
• Perform general maintenance in areas including but not limited to the garage door, dock plates, rooftop, mechanical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, snow and ice removal, filter replacement, grounds maintenance, detail cleaning,
• Ensure Store #82, HO and 55 Banton walkways, dock area and roadways are free and clear of ice, snow and clean from debris in the summer.
• Perform regular inspections and where applicable repairs (replacement of filters, etc.) of all equipment (cafeteria equipment, generators, elevators, dock doors and levellers, fire pumps, HVAC units, boilers, life safety systems, etc.) and vehicles serving the facilities and exterior property.
• Fill out all logs appropriately and manage fresh service tickets as tasks are complete.
• Support employee requests as needed. Adjust temperature and lighting settings, provide support for equipment and furniture moves, track furniture and supplies inventory. Set up areas for meetings, town halls, sample sales, outdoor events, etc.

What You'll Bring:

• Minimum 3 years experience in building maintenance, property maintenance, general repairs, or a related hands-on role.
• Knowledge of Building Code and all pertinent required regulations.
• Knowledge of health and safety requirements.
• Demonstrates problem solving, troubleshooting, analytical and multi-tasking skills

• Able to interpret construction drawing, blue prints, CAD drawing, owner manuals, operation manual and maintenance manual
