Summary

The primary function of the Corporate Director of Operations – CFV Medical Group is to assist the President – CFV Medical Group in providing direction for developing and managing of Cape Fear Valley Health System’s Primary Care Physician Network, and other service lines as needed. Managing other managers and service line administrators in meeting the operational goals of CFV Ambulatory Medical Group and Health System.

Major Job Functions

The following is a summary of the major essential functions of this job. The incumbent may perform other duties, both major and minor, that are not mentioned below. In addition, specific functions may change from time to time:

In collaboration with the President – CFV Medical Group and other leadership to develop and manage the Cape Fear Valley Health System’s assigned physician office system.
Monitor and report regularly on the performance of assigned service lines.
Develop strategic/financial plans for operations of each clinic.
Develop and direct the acquisition, merger and joint ventures of new clinic opportunities.
Working with Practice Administrators, manage/supervise operations of Cape Fear Valley Medical Group.
Works closely with Nursing leadership and SLA’s for CFVMG to ensure proper staffing for day-to-day operations.
Work with the President – CFV Medical Group & ACMO to communicate processes and workflow changes to employed physicians.
Work with the President – CFV Medical Group to implement and maintain financial and other indicator reporting systems and communicate performance to employed physicians and practice managers. Daily, Monthly Volumes & Visits.
Monitor cost data preparation, analysis, systems analysis, and other fiscal related duties as assigned.
Work towards a standardized system for management of all primary and specialty care offices.
Work with Director of Finance to prepare annual capital and operating budgets for the Primary and Specialty Care physician office system wide.
Work with President – CFV Medical Group to monitor and analyze financial performance with respect to budget objectives and develop strategies to managers regarding areas of opportunity for improvement.
Assist with physician recruiting to include all aspects of the recruiting process for assigned service lines.
Work with the Marketing Department as needed to grow assigned service lines.
Participate in and manage the system for a call roster to respond to non-medical emergencies at each office (i.e., security systems).
Participate in civic and charitable activities that may help promote the Medical Center or develop contacts.
Work with President – CFV Medical Group and SLA’s to ensure the completed and accurate charging for all patient services rendered, and all interdepartmental charges, as well as to monitor, adjust, and where possible, correct negative expense variances.
Direct the onboarding of acquired or recruited physicians into the Network.
Integrate service lines with hospital & standardize service lines across the organization.
Responsible for developing policies and procedures for respective services lines
Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

The following qualifications, or equivalents, are the minimum requirements necessary to perform the essential functions of this job:

Education and Formal Training:

Bachelor’s degree in business or health-related field required
Master’s degree in business or an advanced degree in a health-related field preferred

Work Experience:

5 years’ experience in physician office required

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking the English language
Must have excellent skills with computer spreadsheets and the ability to interpret data.
Ability to compile data from multiple sources and not be afraid to dig to find data.
Ability to identify trends.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with hospital management, physicians and outside organizations.
Present a professional and executive image to effectively present proposals and favorably influence clients.
Ability to be effective with little or no day-to-day supervision.
Possess and demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills, be results-oriented, and exemplify a team player attitude.
Ability to demonstrate effective leadership traits and competently execute decisions.
Maintain a current breadth of knowledge of local, regional and national Practice Management and Managed Health Care trends.
Must be willing and able to work on a variety of activities and projects
Ability to travel to various locations throughout Cape Fear Valley Health System’s service area.
Position requires a flexible schedule to meet and discuss issues at customer and physicians’ convenience.
Perform any additional functions requested by the President – CFV Medical Group and other Health System executives.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to stand/walk up to 50% of shift.
Must be able to sit up to 50% of shift.
Must be able to bend up to 10% of shift.
Must be able to lift/carry equipment and/or supplies weighing up to 20 lbs.
Must be able to utilize keyboard and view computer screen up to 50% of shift.
Must have good visual and hearing acuity.
