Security Officer - Industrial Site
Location: Tyler, TX
Pay Rate: $14.50 per hour
Position Summary
We are seeking dependable and professional Security Officers to provide security services at an industrial facility in Tyler, TX. Officers will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment through a combination of foot patrols and golf cart patrols of the property. This position requires strong observation skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while enforcing site-specific policies and procedures.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct routine foot patrols throughout the facility, warehouse areas, parking lots, and perimeter.
- Perform golf cart patrols to monitor large property areas and identify security concerns.
- Monitor and report suspicious activity, safety hazards, security breaches, and unauthorized personnel.
- Control access to the facility and verify employee, visitor, and contractor credentials as required.
- Complete detailed incident, accident, and daily activity reports.
- Respond to alarms, emergencies, and other incidents in accordance with site procedures.
- Maintain a visible security presence to help deter theft, vandalism, and other unwanted activity.
- Provide professional customer service to employees, visitors, and vendors.
- Enforce company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
- Communicate effectively with site management, emergency responders, and fellow security personnel.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Valid Texas Security Officer License (or ability to obtain before hire).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions.
- Basic computer and report-writing skills.
- Previous security, military, law enforcement, or customer service experience is preferred but not required.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Frequent foot patrols throughout the facility.
- Ability to operate a golf cart safely during patrols.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and humidity.
- Must be able to occasionally bend, kneel, climb stairs, and lift up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to remain alert and attentive throughout assigned shifts.
Work Environment
- Industrial manufacturing/distribution facility.
- Indoor and outdoor patrol responsibilities.
- Exposure to moving equipment, operational machinery, noise, and varying temperatures.
- Day, evening, overnight, weekend, and holiday shifts may be required.
Starting Pay: $14.50 per hour
