Professional Job Description: Mainframe Application lead specializing in designing, documenting, programming and supporting tools for our Mainframe development community’s efforts primarily for the Claims Application. Essential Skills:
Highly competent in processes involved in systems analysis and use of appropriate tools for resolution. Including understanding design factors, system capacities, hardware and software requirements, coding, testing, and debugging programs.
Excellent verbal and communication skills.
Excels in ability to multi-task and stay organized in a dynamic work environment.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work well with subordinates, peers and management.
Should have worked on migration project.
Should have handled team of 5-6 developers and should have proven track record Required Skills:
Highly proficient in COBOL, DYL280, DB2, CICS, and JCL in a z/OS environment
Proficient in establishing CICS table entries for new programs, transactions and files
Knowledge of using the following IBM products: z/OS, DB2 for z/OS, ISPF, TSO/E, VSAM, JCL, IBM Utilities, PDS/PDSE dataset format
Knowledge of project design considerations for interfacing with distributed applications, coordinating project designs and implementation plans
Experience in project life cycle phases including analysis, design, programming and implementation
Ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision
